Lexus tips LS 460
This is what I got in the mail. The diameter is huge. I'm thinking I may need to get some cheap tips, weld those on in to increase the diameter, then weld these on top of those? From what I understand others who did this, cut the OEM tips off and welded these right on? I put a water bottle inside the tips to show how large the openings are.
The original plan was to get some exhaust tubes the same diameter as factory from autozone or similar. Cut off the OEM tips.Weld on the tubes to make the tips fit further out making it flush looking. I am willing to trim the bumper to make these fit better.I have a friend who can weld it on for me,but he can't bend or make custom tubes. The last resort would be to take it to a exhaust shop and pay more.
My other thought is someday I would like to get exhaust system or some j-pipes,cat deletes or similar performance mods. Would I be best to get that exhaust system, cut the tips off and weld these on? Right now everything is stock on the exhaust.
I am open to any ideas and advice.

I googled LS460 exhaust tips and one of the results was a clublexus forum thread that has the guy saying how he was on an acura forum and how there is a TL with those tips on. But it was a link for the TSX from this thread and then there is about a page of people just cutting it up and calling it "rice"

There is only one person calling it rice and that is 1SICKLEX. In highschool, all the cool kids had Integra's and the hot girls to go with them, while he had a Sentra. On top of that, he walked in on his mom cheating on his dad, and the other guy drove an Acura. So as you can see, Acura has affected him on a deeply personal level, hence the almost violent disdain. Oh, and most of his teachers that have failed him through out his educational career also drove Acura's (he's 30+ and still working on that GED).

Defcon, personal opinion here but I definitely like your TSX with the OEM bumper on.. looks more subtle and much sleeker lines.
The aftermarket one on the very top looks like it's about to jump into warp.

You guys know that its clipped to the bumper on the LS right...Not even close to the muffler. Stick a flashlight in an LS next time and you will see what I am talking about.

Yeah, I noticed the gap in there too...it's almost like a bumper protector for the heat coming off the exhaust.
That said, it looks amazing. BUT, to be honest, first time I ever saw tips that looked like they fit into the bumper perfectly was with the TL...so I'll leave it that way!

I think what I'm going to do is get an after market exhaust, see if this will slide over the different tips, if not I'll have to cut the tips off and weld these on. I was at a body shop today and they were suggesting some custom molding and brackets may be needed for the rear bumper. Now I need to pick out an cheap exhaust with tips that can be cut for this mod. My second thought as a back up will be have my factory tips cut off and either extend the factory tips and or weld on a quad exhaust if this turns into too much of a nightmare and sell these tips. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I've cut the factory tips off and took it to several custom and exhaust shops. This is getting way be too big of a project. It would be easier if I did not have a rear lip already installed. The most common way of mouting these perfectly would be to cut the bumper, custom mold the tips in place, and repaint the bumper. My final plan is to find a tip that will not require bumper cutting and get an cat back system.

Sezniko, I've edited your post because if you would like to sell any items, you must do it through the Black Market, not in the 3G Community. Along with your post, you've added some good information that is pertinent to this thread. That is why I am leaving your addition information which is relative to the conversation.
Cheers!
