I'm not for sure, but I know I've read a couple threads where guys have warrantied out there seats because they get "butt imprints" in them from sitting. Trying searching, I'm sure a lot will come up. But I have the same questions about what all it covers, not just the imprint thing.

Take it to the dealer and see what they say before you start worrying about whether they will warranty the seats.
If they give you a hard time, then let us know and we can give you some advice.

It shouldn't be a problem. I brought my RSX to the dealer because the leather was cracked and they put new leather on both seats under warranty no questions asked.

My dealer took care of my seat...sort of....
My dealer replaced my driver's seat leather for "premature wear". The problem is that it looks like a RL seat instead of a TL seat--baggy and a bit loose. I have an appointment later this week to see what the deal is.

I had the leather on the front seats replaced because of the "buttprint" issue. They not only replaced the seat bottom, but the back also to make sure it would match color and grain pattern. Since I wanted the "05 style on my '04TL....which required a different cushion and different seat heater element, I had to pay for those but the dealer paid for the leather and labor. When the job was done, it looked perfect..just like a new car. The dealer felt sorry for me, and split the cost of the new cushions and heaters. The total cost was around $250 for both seats.

I'm wondering what seat colors you guys w/the problems are having. I'm looking to buy a new TL in the next 8 weeks or so and want to make sure I get the color that doesn't wear as much... I WANT a blue/light color interior, but I also like the gray w/ebony or dark interior. Just that nobody here has blue. Prob is that I can see myself driving co-workers to dinner and stuff every now and then... Any info appreciated.

The black leather in both my TL and in my previous Accord aged much quicker than the tan leather I've got in my current Accord. I will never buy a black interior again, and wouldn't have this time had I not been so in love with Anthracite.

I had my front (driver) seat replaced in my 2004 TL because the leather on the driver's seat had a stain that would not come out, as well as a "quarter size " spot that had almost completely worn through.
The seat looked really bad, and when I took it to the dealer (Acura of Pleasanton), they agreed to replace it "as a a courtesy". The Service Manager claimed that the warranty did not cover premature wear (I wasn't buying it, but I didn't argue since he had already agreed to replace the seat).
Now the seat looks brand new. I have had no other problems with the leather.

I would go to your dealer, show them the problem, and tell them you want the seat(s) replaced. If they balk or give you a hard time, tell them you want to meet with the Factory or Regional representative.
This apparently is a common problem in the TL, and some dealers have been replacing these defective seats with no questions asked.
Good luck.

Seat covers replaced, bottom and back. "04TL seats changed to "05 style. I had to pay for the cushions and seat heater, but the dealer covered the leather on both the bottom and seatback plus labor. Jones Acura, Lancaster, PA
