Lease Prices for 05TL ?

Can anyone tell me around how much they are getting for a 36-month or 42-month Lease (with 15K miles/year) on an 2005TL - 6MT - Navi - A-Spec? The price I was quoted was $40,900, but I am going to ask them for $39,050-ish. Is that price still too high? The monthly they quoted me at first was $784, but they said if I don't take the back-up sensors, then it'll go down $20, and they may be able to work it a little bit lower. I would like to see how much lower other people got. And is it worth getting the back-up sensors? Thank you all for your help, input, and opinions.

Why are you leasing, they will hose you at the end of your lease, hell you can almost buy with those payments?? I just got my wife a accord ex leather for $22,000 and $20,000 financed is $364 a month, my parents just financed a loaded highlander for $29,000 @ $580 a month. If you can't put down 2-3K and get 5 year note @ $750 a month, either they are jacking you on interest rates or you just need to go to another acura dealership.

That sounds way too high! I love the TL but would never pay $800/m to drive one.

Wasn't/isn't there a lease on the NSX 3k down and $799/m?

Wow, this is my first time buying on my own, so I wasn't sure how much I needed to work on the price.

Oh yea,
-I'm from Michigan
-No trade in
-About $1500-$2K down

They said that for every $1000 down, I get about $20 off. So, without back up aid and $2K down, I'm looking at $724, which I still wasn't sure if it's ok. I checked arcura.com and saw that the dealership's quote was $20 more, but I'm not sure how much more is negotiable from teh Acura.com site calculator? Thanks for everyone's feedback.

Can't you about buy the car in 60 months for slightly more than that? It's probably a better option.

on a 2004, last October, I got $475 (US) for an auto/Navi for 42 months, 15k/year. This was on a car that sold for MSRP.

For what it's worth, the car was worth 57% after 36 months, and 55% after 39 *or* 42 months (so it was a total of $8 to keep the car for 3 additional months).

Josh,

Was the total price around 39K-41K? My price is at MSRP, but I'm also getting an A-spec kit which they said actually cuts the price down $30-$40 per month. Also, how much did you put down? Thank you for your help!

ok, since i have something to work with now.
Given that the vehicle is say $40,000 out the door without docs, tax and other fees.
your 1500 down covers registration, fees, acq. fee, and first payment. Thats basicaly nothing towaards the car.

36month lease with 15k miles is 56% residual, so that leaves you with 44% to pay over the 36 months. 44% of 40,000 is 17,600 divided by 36 months is 488.88 a month.

48 months lease with 15k miles is 53% residual, so that leaves you with 47% to pay over the 48 months. 47% of $40,000 is 18,800 divided by 48 months is 391.00 a month.

Those monthly payments DO NOT include finance charges or what they call rent charge on a lease which will factor about another 95-150 a month to your payment depending on your credit score and which bank they go through.

The only other difference i can see that is making your payment so high, and which i can see why the payment is that high is, they are not residualizing the A-Spec kit. Some dealers will, and some wont. Now, they dont residualize the a-spec package, your numbers are more like:

36 month lease with 15k miles is 56% residual, so that leaves you with 44% to pay over the 36 months. 44% of $35,000(sticker of the car) is 15,400 plus $5000 for A-Spec which now brings you to 20,400 divided by 36 months is now $566.66 a month.

48 month lease with 15k miles is 53# residual, so that leaves you with 47% to pay over the 48 months. 47% of 35,000 is 16,540 plus $5000 for A-Spec which now brings you to $21,540 divided by 48 months is 448.70 a month.

Now like i said, these figures DO NOT INCLUDE money factor(interest charges or monthly sales tax.
So if they quoted you $700's for your payment over 36 months, they are not residualizing the A-spec kit, which, if at the end of the lease term, you decide to hand teh car back and walk away, you just gave them a $5000 A-spec package on the vehicle for free, since you paid for the entire kit while you were leasing opposed to residualizing the percentage that you didnt use of it.

if you were buy the vehicle, your payments would be 40000 for the vehicle, plus tax, license, reg and other stuff, for a total of about 43500 out the door rough estimate. 2000 down, would leave you with about 41000 to finance over 60 months is 683.33 plus whatever interest rate you get on the vehicle. So your payment would roughyl be 750-790 a month with interest and you would own the vehicle at the end of the 60 months, instead of handing thevehicle back to someone after 36 months and getting nothing in your pocket. It all depends on what your looking for .

Also, alot of people got screwed like this, when they add A-spec to your vehicle, your entitled to all the factory parts they take off back, all the suspension, wheels and tires , everything. If they refuse to give it back to you, then dont buy the A-Spec package from them. You can sell all that original stuff for 1500.00 on ebay and recover some cash. you can buy the A-Spec kit off ebay for 4000 and have it installed at your local dealer or anywhere else for about $1000 and that way, you get to keep all your stock stuff.

Ok, sorry for rambling on, and hope this helps you out with your purchase.

Jimthegreek,

Thank you very much for that detailed explaination, that helps out a lot. I actually understand now how they come up with the numbers. I was also under the impression that every Acura dealership uses the same leasing company (Honda Financial), but now I know otherwise. Right now I'm getting a new place so money is tight, so I'm trying to keep payments low. They said they will add the A-spec into the lease and that will bring the payment down $30-$40 due to it will be worth more at the end of the lease. Thank you very much for all the help and advice!

Yeah so what they did is residualize the a-spec kit, so the payment went down.
good luck with everything

That payment is insane. My $46K car is $625.00 a month for 36 months no money down and 8% WA tax included. Even with the A-Spec kit residualized (-$40.00 per month), a payment of $744.00 a month is nuts on a $40K car. You can get a BMW 5er for that money.

BarryH,

What was the residual on your car that was $46? Was it the same as a TL? Thank you for your info and help.
