Latest word on tires from Acura Client Services
As of today:
"Acura understands there is a concern and the engineers are working on a solution. Affected owners will be notified via mail."
at which point, I told her that I'm concerned driving my car in wet/slick conditions and am worried that the solution will involve out-of-pocket expenses on my behalf.
Her second response:
"There are no safety issues. Engineers are working on a solution."
This is garbage. I'm disappointed and will be looking for new tires...

I've already replaced my tires but agree with Acura that there do not appear to be any safety issues. (Flatspotting, other vibrations, and even minor pulling to one side aren't unusual, and aren't going to kill people). How well a tire sticks to the road is relative. Take the TL on stock Bridgestone EL42's and compare traction to lots of other cars in the wet, on ice, and on snow. I doubt it will embarass itself. It won't be anywhere near the best, either, I would assume. But anyone that says the TL is unsafe should probably advocate an instant recall on half the cars and trucks on the road today.

Here I have to agree with you again. For my preference, I prefer riding quietness to having performance. Lots of ppl have said how good Michelin Pilot Sport A/S would be, I really wish its quietness can satisfy my standard. I'll intend to get a quieter one out of Grand Touring/High Performance categories.
However, I had the bad days with Dunlop in the past. I won't use it again.

I am going to give these a try. Claim: quiet, all season, ultra high performance. What more could you want for the TL.
