Is it just me or do some TL's have bigger butts than others?

Today while driving to work I saw what looked like a silver TL-S a couple cars ahead of me in the far left lane and its back looked huge... Much huger then how I remember mine looking . Then another day I was driving behind an A-spec and noticed how overly big the back was. Do all TL's share are the same booty.. I mean body dimensions?

^yes.
all 3G TL's are exactly alike, body dimension wise.

Sometimes, people deviate away from stock tires and wheels, meaning if they put a wider set of tires on the rear, it'll make the car look wider.

different color TL's will have the appearance of having large glutes. also a rear aspec lip (especially the type-s) will give it more flare.

see how the white one looks like it has the bigger butt? this same logic does not apply to people, in my real world experience, it's usually the opposite.

When I lowered mine and added aggressive wheels, everyone said it looked wider. People I work with and friends, who really dont mod cars in any way at all say it all the time.

I have to change my stock original tires next summer... The dealer told me it’s illegal to drive with them as bald as they are.. and the tried to sell me a set for 1000$.. But they are still gripping just fine.. I might opt for some wider tires...

What about the A-spec, and Type-S bumper .. Same dimensions as stock?

Looking at your Type-S pics it obvious there is a difference near the bottom edges that probably helps add to the look.

they are the same. the only difference is a little flare at the bottom like previously stated.
when i mean the same; i mean all 04-08 bumpers are interchangeable.

aspec is not a bumper, its just a lip that goes OVER the existing bumper.

you can get a type-s aspec rear lip and put it over your base bumper BUTTT you'll have to hack up your original bumper exhaust outlets before installing the aspec lip so that you can fit quad exhausts.

you either have a base bumper, or a type-s bumper. those are the only options.

The Type-S A-Spec rear lip has a flare on the outside top and bottom that give an appearance of being wider, since the base A-Spec has one long diffuser-looking section. Technically, you could have the 04-06 base, 07-08 base, or Type-S bumper. The 07-08 base bumpers require less hacking to fit the Type-S A-Spec lip.

As long as you have measurable tread depth you're normally fine. Legally anyways. I think some places you just need to not have cords showing. Safety wise its easy to just look for the wear bars. In the dry bald tires actually do grip better though. I know I always liked autocross and track days with minimal tread.

I like the TL's wide rear end. It's strong looking.
