please. we are not the only ones who think it's overpriced. is it so hard to accept the fact that it's overpriced? do you actually think a loaded is250 is worth 38k?

It took me forever to read all 4 pages, so now I'll throw my in.

11/04 - I shopped the hell out of 5 cars...that would be in a specific Price Range. $35K-$40K max.

BMW... out of the picture.. anything you can get for that price has no Balls.

Audi A4... Too Small..

G-35 Sedan.... Small and Ugly interior, though I was tempted by the AWD Coupe they were gonna put out. ( but i need the room for 5)

ES330.... Rides like a boat. Older folks car...not for me.

TL..... Other than the FWD, it comes in a great package,, Speed, agility, gadgets and beautiful design. I get looks and compliments galore in this thing.
Even from Beemer drivers.

If they make the TL in an AWD model.
Look out.. all bets are off.

All are great in their own way.
It all comes down to what floats your boat.

I can afford all of the above but value to me is getting as close to having it all and paying the least possible.

Good luck to those of you trying to decide which to buy, it is no easy task.

Thanks 1sweet, for your kind review

I have driven/been in every one of them you mentioned, plus the new IS. My first car was a ES300 (97), and i got it only after the BMW dealer screwed up with my order and the right car never came. It was floaty and it was the only FWD car i owned, so maybe thats why i am skeptical about FWD.

I just plain didnt like the G.

Bud, still poundering

Personally, I loved the IS350. I thought it was a wonderful car and I would own one now but 1. I live in WI and RWD is a concern and 2. Would probably like to have stick still, though the paddle shifters worked pretty well.

VW Passat fully loaded, 276bhp vs. 258 bhp TL, as low as $38K.

Disappointing IS 250

I drove the IS 350 last week and was blown away. Today I drove the IS 250 six-speed and could not have been more disappointed. You can read the details in my updated review here:

http://www.epinions.com/content_209272540804

In short, the small six could not be more gutless--it NEVER comes on cam--and the stick is a dead-ringer for a cable-operated unit in a gardan variety econobox.

The car this time also had a light gray interior vs. the black last time. The interior looks much less rich in light gray, with the hard plastic instrument panel lower looking especially downmarket.

They will and they will say: "Look how small that GS was ... ohh maybe it was a new IS. I can't see the difference."

Sorry, you can not compare the "new" numbers from Acura to the Old numbers from another company.

Just about no one else is doing the back testing that stupid Acura did. (horrible move).

Although I agree with the IS350 review, I am quite impressed with the [2006] BMW 330i. Nothing handles like it - not the G35, not an A4, and definitely not the TL.

What do you mean "now?" Looking back at the original post, this thread is about as on-topic as it ever was. Which isn't saying much...

In the spirit of getting it somewhere in the vicinity of on-topic, I've amended my post.

Edit: Forgot you cannot edit on this forum after five minutes.

But if I could edit it I'd say: stick-shift drivers with even a passing interest in acceleration will be much happier in the TL than the IS 250.

I agree, my comment was more directed at the finish and querky interior, it did handle well
