Just bought a 6MT w/ Nav
Hi gang. I just bought me an Anthracite/Ebony 6MT w/Nav last night from Tustin Acura. This car is indeed a delight to drive. The negotiation process is very pleasant -- only 15 minutes and got me a pretty sweet deal. They didn't try to put extra bogus charges on top of the price, either. The whole process only took about 2 hours, from the time I set foot in the dealer until I drove off the lot.
Anyway, did anybody notice that not all seat surfaces that "touches" the occupants' body are leather? I notice that rear headrests, the center part of the rear seat (where the arm rest is), and center console are covered in vinyl. Even my Gen 6 Accord has leather for those parts.

Good color combo..... congrats on your TL. Glad to hear your buying process was pleasant. After a week or so, why don't you do a mini-review on your likes and dislikes. Anyway, enjoy driving your new TL, the folks on this forum do as you well know.

Thanks guys!
The car is really fun to drive for a FWD. I initially didn't expect it to be this good. I initially tried to find a good 2001 740i Sport, so I couldn't help but comparing these 2 cars even though I know they're from totally different categories. But after 17 cars and 6 months, the search really wore me down, so I started to look elsewhere.
The TL and G35 coupe are both interesting cars for me. G35 is more fun to drive, but the interior is just to cheap for me, and 05 cars don't have Brembos anymore. OTOH, the TL has the most toys for the buck, drives pretty good, has one of the best shifter feel in the business, and has 4-dr. However, the search for 6MT and navi combo almost killed my appetite as well, after several dealerships told me that I would have to order the car because of such low supply from Acura and it will take up to 4 months. Luckily Tustin had the car in stock.
I notice some other things: my car comes with Michelin Pilot MXM4. While these tires are not great at traction, but I think they're quieter than the Turanzas. I have driven the TLs with Turanzas and they seem to pick up more road texture noise than the Michelins.
I also notice that some plastics are flimsy and thin. But I think Honda has to cut corner somewhere to pack so many goodies into the car while maintaining similar MSRP with 2nd TL.
I also experienced VSA during the test drive. I took an off-ramp a little too hot. When I touched the brake a little trying to slow down a bit, I felt the ABS motor kicked in and the car rotated itself a little bit. Amazing.
For sure I'll write a mini-review after a few miles. This car is a weekend car, so it might take me a while.
