I've been lurking. question about pricing.

Hello all. I've been lurking here for several months and have gotten fantastic information about the TL-S and am very appreciative.

I'm down to the nitty gritty on several TL-S's and would like some input. My color combination preferences are:

1. NBP/TP
2. CBP/TP
3. WDP/TP
4. NBP/ES

The 6MT is an absolute BEAST and seems like a totally different car than the 5AT's I've driven. But, my boss lady says I cannot have a manual tranny. apparently she doesn't like my driving style. go figure. so it looks like I'm getting a 5AT.

here's what I'm looking at (this is after some haggling but nothing real serious):

5AT's:

'07 NBP/TP , 4000 miles: $34,000 (used car dealer) - already tinted
'07 NBP/ES - - 7 miles: $36,000 (acura dealership #1)
'07 WDP/TP - - 21 miles; $36,000 (acura dealership #1)
'07 WDP/TP - - 5000 miles: $34,500 (Acura dealership #2) - - gen. mg's car
'07 NBP/ES - - 11 miles: $35,495 (Acura dealership #2)
'08 NBP/TP - - no miles: $37,500 (Acura dealership #2)

6 MT:

'07 CBP/TP - - 30 miles: $36,000 (Acura dealership #1)

all of the above prices are from dealers and are before TTL and $400 doc fees.

right now my first choice is the one with 4000 miles on it but it seems to me that they need to do considerably better than $34,000 when I can get a brand new one for only $1500 more.

I'd appreciate any assitance/input/suggestions, etc.

thanks again for all of the excellent information from this site!

Do you really want to pay 9% over invoice on an '07? I thought "fair" was between 4% and 8%.

Code:
Invoice	4% 5% 6% 7% 8%
$33,237 $1,329.48 $1,661.85 $1,994.22 $2,326.59 $2,658.96
Total	$34,566.48 $34,898.85 $35,231.22 $35,563.59 $35,895.96

07 tl-s is now a year old model. correct me if I'm wrong, but the invoice when it was new was 35,600 (including destination). I can't imagine paying more than 34 and have seen reports of 33,500 on here by now.

Look for an 08 with 10 miles on it for <36k and negotiate.

PS: She's messing with you - she just wants to drive it and doesn't want to deal with the stick. Go with the 6mt - you won't regret it!

blaatzee- welcome to the forums. assuming you can't do any better on pricing and can't get the boss lady to change her mind, i would go w/ '07 NBP/ES - - 11 miles: $35,495 (Acura dealership #2).
try shopping out of your area as well. good luck w/ the hunt

From what I've read, there is really nowhere in the country you should be paying more than 35K + TTL for an '07 with no miles right now. You can definitely get it for $34,000 in more competitive markets. Just calculate invoice (incl. destination) -1500 incentive, multiply by 1+ your sales tax rate then add TTL. Do not add doc fees. They are just a form of dealer profit and have no bearing on the dealer's true cost basis. Even at invoice - incentive, your dealer is still making some $. That's the OTD # you ask for. Always negotiate your OTD so that there are not BS games played at closing. Email every dealer that you would consider driving to and offer them this amount. See what comes back at you. Personally if I stood to save a grand for driving 3 or 4 hours, I probably would do it and look at it as an opportunity to get some of your break-in miles over with. You might get 4 out of 5 dealers tell you that your insane and you can never get the car for that price, but don't buy it. #5 will probably meet that price or come damn close to it. Good luck.

I agree with the other posts here: don't take those first offers you got from those dealers, esp. the ones about 07 models. Looks very high for me. I understand we are from different regions and price varies, but from what I have seen/heard on this board, 07 prices should be slashed already to give way for the 08 models. Don't they need the space on the lot? Use that to your advantage.

Get a TL as you will really enjoy it !

Thanks for the suggestions. as for getting the 6MT, I completely agree that it's what I need to do but my wife would not be happy, and you know what they say about that. before my current Tahoe my last two cars were a '95 Taurus SHO MTX and a '99 BMW 540i 6 speed sport. she said it makes her sick to ride in a car with a manual tranny. so it looks like its the 5AT for me.
