It's been a good run Acura, but I'm jumping ship to Audi S4

It probably would have got me looking much harder at it!!! Big brakes, a suspension that was a bit more sport tuned, a small bump in HP and a mild exterior treatment... all for an extra $3-4K (Keep the price south of $50K)

I never looked at it like that; you have a point. I'd still rather have a definitively labeled "Type-S" just because I enjoy the unique trim and accents that my Type-S has.

Probably going to leave it stock as I typically do with my DD vehicles. I also have seen alot of guys having issues with the TD1 issue after they tune, it seems as Audi is using this for a blanket excuse to deny any type of power train issues. I have seen where Stasis is offered at some dealers and then Stasis is supposed to step up and warranty the issue..... have read about some finger pointing back and forth. Stasis seems to be really good about stepping up to the plate though. If I decide to make any changes/mods I will definitely reach out to you. Thanks!!!
Stasis offers an outside warranty.
However, when and if the times comes let me know. We can help you out.

Congratulations on the purchase MVR, I am sure you will love the S4!
It's very ironic and almost freaky that you and Chris Harris (an auto journalist) both purchased S4s recently. Harris just released a video comparing his used stock and then modified S4 to an RS4. I can definitely understand not wanting to mess around with the factory warranty, but it's pretty amazing what a tune and exhaust will let the S4 do performance wise.
Regardless of what you do with the S4 mod wise, good luck with the car and please post pictures when you have the time

The sound is intoxicating and sounds similar to the e92 m3, but the gas mileage does suck I average 20 mpgs and that's pretty much all highway

Congrats on the new car. I love Audi's and hope to own one someday. I was looking at B6 S4's recently, but ultimately decided I don't want a decrease in MPG with how many miles I drive per year.

Well it's been about 10 months since I left my 07 Type S for the 2013 S4..... No regrets at this point, still miss the extra backseat room the the TL when I have people in the car but that is about it. The Quattro AWD is simply amazing, in dynamic mode with the sports differential you can throttle steer the car. I bought a second set of wheels with Blizzak LM-60's and the car is an absolute beast in the snow. I get about the same fuel mileage combined as I did with the TL but the TL on the highway was the winner with an extra 2-3mpgs. I have not modded the car at all (don't want to risk losing the warranty) with the exception of adding Xpel clear bra and added a 12" sub to the factory Bang and Olufsen system (sounds amazing).
The new TLX looks pretty sweet, I see it looks like they plan to use the 3.5L engine... hope they have some things up their sleeve in terms of additional HP.... would make for a great car.
Oh well...... Just wanted to check back in here at AZ and update anyone who cares how the new car is working out.

Here are a couple of pics.....
This one is from when the car was being prepped for delivery, the dealership has a photographer on staff.
Here is another of it in the drive with the other cars after a wash

direct injection. the rlx j35 with DI is now rated at 310hp and 272tq. compare that with previous J35's without DI. now imagine a j37 with DI....should put it right around ~330hp

I still can't believe our 07-08s only have it on the intake side...my 04 S60R had it on both intake and exhaust. Honda, keep up out there...

Noticed this thread is still going. I guess I never looked back into it after making my first post which was a long time ago. You had asked if I had a vette and yes I did I actually had an electron blue 03 Z06, and my most recent was an 06 Z06. Right now I just have the Type S. Love your combination of cars. New S4 and a Z06!!!
Since you guys were talking about locations I grew up in Bartlett, and I'm now just a ways south on rt 59 in Plainfield.

Gotta jump into the locals thread! I grew up in Naperville, and I now live in Algonquin, just north of 90. Op, great stable you have there. Love the S4/Z combo, plus the big guy for utility. I've thought many times this year that quattro with snow tires is probably fantastic.

Hope the dealer didn't jack up the paint when they prepped it, seems like nearly every new car I apply Opti-Coat to that the dealer did cosmetic prep to needed extra polishing to clean up their mess. At least Audi has hard paint so it isn't as easy for them to mess up.
