LEDs dim, but they don't dim like incandescent bulbs - they they dim gradually to a certain amount, then shut off, whereas incandescent bulbs dim gradually all the way through until the bulb is out.

So got my order tonight of the LED boards from ebay seller snb331. Was excited to get home and open and install them. Got home and opened the package and to my suprise it did not contain what I ordered at all. Instead of the boards he sent me 2 instrument/dash LED's. Not very happy about this!! So I e-mailed him and am waiting to see what he says about taking care of this.
Hmmm...these dont look like LED boards!

heres where i got mine shipping was a tad late had to wait a few weeks but they worked out great and very cheap i mean less than 3 bucks for a pair is nothing lol. they fit perfect in the dome and rear dome and have 3m tape so they stick to whatever really good.
they are a little too bright for me. if you look at them it will hurt your eyes for a second or two. but they light up the interior very well and are pure white no blue which i think looks very tacky

in the door panels i got these they fit perfect and not too bright

They are rated 5000k according to VLEDs. I purchased them hoping they were pure white. These actually appear white with a tinge of yellow.
I think it's because of the phosphorus (yellow) coating on the LED and the bulb sits so close to the chrome reflector when plugged in so when it lights up it kinda shows a little yellow. Compared to my LED boards which had all the LEDs facing downwards (no light aimed at chrome reflector)
Here's a comparison picture.
Left light is the new VLEDs bulb I just posted a picture of.
Right light is a 9 LED board from eBay seller "SNB331" on page 1 post 1
I really don't know what's going on with his ebay boards lately because they don't appear PURE WHITE like they used to in my original post with the 12 LED boards... The ones I've purchased lately seem 5500-6000k. They give things a SLIGHT TINGE of bluish-purplely tint.
In this picture below my front seats have the 9 LED boards on each side from ebay seller SNB331. Both of my backseats has the VLEDs 360 style bulb I just received this week.
Notice how the back seats look slightly yellow and the front looks bluish-purpley

I also didn't mention what I had to go through just to remove the passenger side LED board.
Remember those little plastic 194 adapter pieces he includes so you can plug it into your dome light connector?
This one in the middle
I went out to the car to swap out the LED boards for the VLED ones I just bought. Driver side came out easily. Passenger side was a different story. Tried using my hands and it would not budge out of the socket. Used needle nose pliers and it still didn't budge.
I ended up having to remove the housing to bring it inside and heat it up with a blow dryer and remove the glue that was melted all inside the connector. It's like some type of hot glue looking stuff. Dries pretty clear and tough but once heated becomes very soft and stringy. I've had issues with it during the summer (TX summer gets up to 110+). The glue would heat up and melt and fall onto the plastic cover that hides the light bulb. I had to remove the light lens and clean it, but that was months ago. I didn't care too much about it.
Broken off and stuck inside the housing inside the car.
Removed from car
Looking at it from the back side of the connector
Finally got it out
See the clear gel like substance covering the conductive wires? I'm guessing it got so hot that the glue melted and ended up bonding the whole adapter to the connector. Had to heat it up several times to remove as much of the glue as I possibly could.
Put the new bulb in and it works. I wasn't able to remove all of that glue like substance so putting the bulb back in took a bit more effort but it works fine.

Wow sorry to see that you had to deal with cleaning it.
First thing came to my mind was the glue inside the plastic tube as well.
That board is not pure white, I agree. It's just like my old license plate board.
Remember, seller said, they were out of the pure white ones, and sending bluish ones...
May be you got those with in your second purchase
When I take a direct picture of the bulb, and if it's greenish or a little yellow (usually green), then in person it's perfect white.
Like the last pictures I posted of FX
I thought more yellowish was way more warm white or stock white interior bulbs of 4th gen TL but... still, better than blue.
What camera did you use? I used HTC One S

Now my license plate matches to doors but here is an old pic
Door leds are the reason of this thread
License plate is the bluish ones the seller has although says white (make sure by asking the seller before buying)
I guess the 9led boards you got are the bluish ones
and headlight is Osram CBI

Already have. Moved the doors to license and got orange ones to doors later on
Do you like the brightness now? Dimmer than 9 led board?

The color temp of those makes me think the ones from vleds are like 4300k like our headlights and the boards are 5000-6000k like many people do aftermarket HID. I am waiting for my boards after he messed the order up, I hope they are more on the white side. I only ordered a couple so if it doesnt work out I can get others. I am trying to see what works the best. I tend to go back and forth on these types of things.

Just got a set of snb boards, 9 and 16, a set of 5k and 6k from vled, 5k is backordered, the 6k matches perfectly with the 6k though... Much better but definitely dissapointed they weren't 5k though. Any clue on when he will be getting new boards?

Snb fixed my order and I got my 2 6-boards for the front and 15-board for the trunk. First off, the 15-board for the trunk is perfect. Much brighter then the stock and lights up the trunk perfectly without being too bright. Stuck the board to the factory housing, perfect!
Installed the 6-boards up front. Even these are quite bright. When I first installed them I had them facing straight down. This was bright but too much glare, I then changed it to where they were facing forward, this I like better but still may be too bright. I am going to give it some time to see how I feel about them. I am thinking for the map lights that the 360 LED's might work better. There is no glare as they use the reflector of the housing. These do have a tinge of blue/purple which I am not too happy about. I was hoping for a pure white! Here are the pics...
Before I adjusted them forward
Another thing I like about the 6-boards is you cant see them in the housing that much. In real life you cant see them as much as you do in the picture.
These do have a tinge of purple/blue in real life.
Shot at night, see they are pretty bright
So I will decide what I think about these over the next several days and then make another order. I will probably either do the 6 or 9 boards for the doors as I have the 360 in there now.

Yeah I did.
He said they were using another company for a while because of some reasons... but was going to go back to old white ones again...
and 2 days ago, he sent me an e-mail saying they are back to pure white boards again.
So he knew the situation but since some people like bluish, they were shipping the boards... anyway they are back to white ones again

I'm looking to do led boards for my interior as well and I'm wondering if anyone has tried the ijdmtoy exact fit boards for our cars. Compared to snb's which is brighter or better here is a link to the boards

You guys are nuts man...I have the new 5K 6led bulbs from vleds and they're nice but just too bright. Actually bothered rear seat passengers the other night and when my gf uses the vanity mirror it bothers me while driving. I think I'll go back to OEM inside, and keep these for the doors trunk and license plate.

That looks clean. Well done but OEM at first glance?
Last time I saw my trunk light was the time I replaced the bulb, all I care about is the light output spread

So after having my SNB 6 LED boards in for a little bit I decided that they are to harsh for my taste. The brightness and blueish tint to the boards make it a bit too bright and harsh in color. I am going back stock until I can decide on something else that suits my taste better. I guess I like a warmer light in the interior. Any ideas guys?

received my LEDs snb331 on ebay today. installed a bit ago and liking them alot. Guess ill see if it starts to be too much for me over time. I used the 12 LED panel for both front and rear. And like vietxquanstah, bulb broke during removal. i found it easier to remove the whole dome fixture for install.
next will be the door courtesy lights i suppose.

That looks clean trelliz. I ended up going a bit overboard and got 24's for the front and back along with 12's for the door courtesy lights. The doors came out perfect and the interior is insanely bright but I can live with it. Now I just have to do the vanity mirror lights and footwell leds for the perfect finish

I just ordered the 6 LED panel for my interior lights and now I want it for my license plate lights too.
I took a peak at the license plate light and it looks like a 6 LED won't fit into it. It is very small. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks.
