Installed these today and they are as bright as shown in the pictures. Though a little too bright for my taste and I only went with the 9 LED board all around and 15 for the trunk.

For the guys that have installed these, can you see the individual LEDs and the board through the light covers when they are off? Mine are clearly visible and it annoys me a little bit, I would prefer to just see the white light cover when they're off. Can you also see the bulb of the 360 styled LEDs, might end up switching to this kind instead?

Yes they are really bright, I've got the 12 led. Yes you can see the individual leds on the board, doesn't bother me. No, i dont remember seeing them on the 360 style leds.

Check out this page, I tried couple ways to minimize the visibility of the leds. It did work, didn't bother me as before.

Rears? Don't care + can't do anything about it anyways.

I have black tint on the covers right now. Love the gloss black look though

I can see them in the front anywhere else I don't care. After a few days you won't notice them.

You guys wanna talk bright?I have 48 LED boards on front AND back, so I have essentially 192 LEDs in my interior. Plus I have custom retrofitted CREE 7W LEDs in my license plate lights, and custom retrofitted 2x CREE 5W LEDs in my trunk lights

Trunk:

License plate lights:

I put BMW license plate lights to shame(I've compared)

As far as other lighting go, I have philips 85122+ bulbs with zkw-r clear lens so I outshine 99.9% of cars on the road too

Just received my 15's in the mail. The 12's were on back order or something, and the 15's were cheaper. I might put 2 in the map 2 in the doors and keep the 360 bulbs in the rear.

What about these? Super cheap (price wise and you get 10 of them), and the reviews seem great.

Those suck, not even comparable. They are more of a blue(ish) 6k output, and not much brighter than stock. I purchased those for one of my other cars and was disappointed. For about 10 bucks more you can get some out of this world light output and good quality.

I installed my 15's today, only took about 10 min. HOLY BRIGHTNESS!!! I should have gotten these first instead of the 360 V-led bulbs I had. I ended up putting all 4 in the dome/map lights. They sure get my recommendation Thanks Viet and Meko for the heads up on these bulbs.

If you look at the pictures of my original post the pictures shows comparison of the LED boards vs bulbs similar to the ones you linked from amazon.. The only difference is mine were from VLEDs and were rated 5K pure white and not 6k bluish

It's good to see I'm not the only person with 48 boards...
What are you using for your vanity lights?
I can't remember as I haven't opened my mirror in a long time and it's been ages... but I think I have 18?

Love your license plates light

Paperboy, any details on the CREE bulbs you put in the license plate lights? I have some 5 watt ones in my reverse that aren't cutting it but if they might fit in the plate lights I'd reuse them there and upgrade.

Looking forward to results, I'm sure they would fit in there but not through the hole, as long as you're willing to cut it open please post pics! I'm not that brave to cut mine open lol.

Good point ! I completely forgot about that . Damnit . Hhmmmm i guess i could use a dremel and cut the case off , put the board in and then use jb weld to put it back together . From their it would be permanent

Hhmmmm ill have to think on this a bit more

just ordered 2 red ones (9's) for my doors. my current door lights are towers so they have concentrated light (a circle) so hopefully these have a more distributed light output. thanks again for the link!

UPDATE about the led boards (ebay user) that we recommended

Reason I recommended snb331 was because he had pure white led boards.

All my interior, door, trunk was his/her led boards.
I had old bluish led board for my License Plate. Was lazy to replace it, but since some of the leds died.............

I've ordered two 12led boards from snb331 and installed them to my license plate today.
At night saw that they don't match to pure white ones.

Has bluish in it. Not sure if you could notice it from the pictures but it just doesn't match. Not even a little difference... totally 6k or 7k

-------------

This was my goal for best output

But got lazy again and instead of creating a cover, modded the oem cover that was there

Cut the sides.
My old one was sitting on top of it, but it made led board stay kind of far from the cover (less brightness to plate)

Testing the old 12led one...sits much closer

NEW one installed

and comes out bluish

-------

I've e-mailed the ebay seller. Waiting for a reply why board are different color

Wow that is very blue. Did you ever get a response from SNB as to why his LED boards are now looking blue instead of pure white?

This is what I have for my rear license plate and they are SUPER BRIGHT.

http://www.vleds.com/bulb/194-168-15...58-1-pair.html

I have not seen another car in person at night that has brighter pure 5k white LEDs than me..

Yeah I did.
He said they were using another company for a while because of some reasons... but was going to go back to old white ones again...

and 2 days ago, he sent me an e-mail saying they are back to pure white boards again.

So he knew the situation but since some people like bluish, they were shipping the boards... anyway they are back to white ones again

I wouldnt recommend you to tape the LEDs there, the tape will got hot in summer and fall off over time. For mine, I didnt have to cut the stock lens cover at all, it is untouched. I wanted it that way to look clean. however the bulb holder I had to cut to fit the huge bulb. I dont think the LED panels can come close to my brightness though, but as long as you are happy with them, thats all that matters.
in the pic it looks like theres glare on the plates but in reality there isnt, its just hard to capture that much light with a camera

I have these as well, they barely fit in the housing and I had to break off the side tabs of the socket but they are very bright.

My LEDs are somewhere between 5k and 6k but no one has a brighter led than mine. Basically no bulb that comes in the factory t-10 size will come close. That's why mine required re-wiring of a new socket. Remember t10s are made to be small, not to be the brighest.

Since I've had the brightest LEDs around for awhile I might start a thread later on to show ppl how to properly do a maximum brightness led retrofit. NO cutting of the outside lens. Brightness is really addicting, sometimes I want even brighter lol like HID bright without the disadvantages of an HID

That's odd. I had absolutely no fitment issues and it did not require for me to break any tabs for it to fit. It installed perfectly for me.

Don't you have cheap blue ones in there?
I don't like it, buy these white boards
Do you turn on your rear interior lights ever?

Nah it won't fall of, that's not normal black electric tape, its for cold and hot weather, hold and sticks crazy... didn't fall of during summer too

I have 12 led in there but sometimes I think it's too much for my taste but meh it's good
