dulnev,

Their phone number is listed in this url. I talked to Sandy Swanson when I had a question about my order.

Well! Yesterday I met Sandy and she said that 2 or more buys are for $25.00. I saw the product is pretty neat with very stiff nature and fill not fold or sag like the one I've seen in the past. I ordered one along with my friend which I'm picking up on Thursday. Will post pictures.

Well, as someone who used to sell them, I know the cost to resellers is about $15.

Exclamation UPDATE

I just spoke to Bruce at Canvas Works. If we buy 20 or more, the cost is $15.50 each plus shipping. One person (call him "reseller") will have to guarantee the purchase with their credit card and provide to Bruce a list of people who are authorized to purchase at that price. These people would not be charged anything. Instead the total will be calculated including the actual shipping charges and then charged to this "reseller's" credit card.

I'm not sure I'd want to be this reseller, since there's an inherent risk and hassle associated with doing this. And I'd have to figure out how to collect money from the buyers (PayPal maybe?). Any suggestions?

I guess I could propose the price of $19 + whatever shipping Canvas Works charges as the price to the end buyers, which would provide me with some incentive to be this "reseller". Or maybe someone else wants to do this?

Would it be possible to have people call Bruce at CanvasWorks individually, telling him about the group buy on Acura-TL.com. Once he gets 20 buyers, he could then release the order.

why cant we pay the store and he will send you the money? amd if he is worried about 20 peopple actualy buying them, he can wait until everyone on the list gave him thier credit cards and then ship them all out. tell himk to charge $18 for that b/c anyone else would do that anyway.

If they don't get at least 20 orders by a set date then the orders are never placed. They set the price at $17-18 and charge each individual credit card, that way you don't have to be on the hook for the whole thing.

Thumbs up WE'RE READY TO BUY!

Bruce has agreed to the approached suggested by couple people here. Here's the plan:

1. Everyone who's interested, please send me a private message with your Name and E-mail address, as well as the number of shades you want to buy.

2. Once I've collected all names (I'll give it 2 days or until all the people who posted in this thread send me info), I will e-mail the list to Bruce at Canvas Works.

3. Bruce will send everyone an e-mail with instructions on how to buy. The price will be $15.50 + shipping.

START THE PRIVATE MESSAGES!

I used to sell these things. They are custom fit for the window, so it's easy to put up (no fiddling around to make it stay up). They have a shiny silver metallic surface that reflects the light and heat. They roll up for storage and can't be folded.

Do you just toss it in the backseat when you're not using it?

That's what I do. The HeatShields don't store away as well as some other sun shades, but they're more effective and come with a lifetime warranty. I'm currently using one I had for my 1990 CRX, but, of course, it's too small.

The website shows only a 3 year warranty now. Maybe they changed it since you last bought one.

How do they fasten when they're rolled up? And if they're rolled, won't it have the problem of trying to roll back together when you try to mount it on your windshield? (Much like paper when you unroll a poster, for example)

Hmmm ... the lifetime warranty was one of the big selling points I used when I sold them. The HeatShields are sort of semi-stiff so there's no problem with curling when you unroll. Since it's custom fit for the window, it just stays in place.

Exclamation KEEP THEM COMING!

I have requests from 15 people so far for a total of 17 shades (two of these people still need to send me their full names).

We need 3 more shades requests for the 20 minimum so keep them private messages coming!

Remember, provide both your e-mail and full name, as well as how many shades you want.

Thanks.

As soon as I get 20, I'll e-mail the list to Canvas Works. People can continue sending me their names/e-mails and I will continue to forward updates to Canvas Works.

I'll ask Bruce about the rear shade; I didn't even know they had one. I'll ask how it's attached on the TL. Although I have to wonder about the usefulness of the rear shade (if it's not transparent)...

It is quite stiff and straightens out without any hassles. However, due to this, it does not seem to roll up very compactly. Putting it on takes about 5-10 seconds.

I am quite happy with it.

Thumbs up HOUSTON, WE HAVE A LIFT OFF!

I now have 20 requests and will be e-mailing the list to Canvas Works!

I will keep you appraised of what happens, but you will likely here from Bruce before you hear from me again.

Everyone else who wants these at the $15.50 price, keep the Private Messages coming! The door is not closed by any means.

I collected mine from Sandy today. (Not in the group buy) This is very good product and covers all of the shield. ZVery easy to put but have to bend a little to tuck in under the mirror. Eventually it will crease there for sure. Once rolled it is about 5-6 inches. Does not go under any seat. I liked the product though keeps lot of heat out. All the best for you guys for the group buy. It's worth every penny.
