Insulation behind the fenders?
Does anyone know what the stuff is behind the front fender (maybe all the fenders) as you sit in the driver seat, with the door open, there is a material that can be seen behind the front qtr. panel - feels like hard foam. Insulation of some sort for road noise - or safety stuff?

I see they also have like a fiber material lining the wheel wells too - maybe to soften the sound of rocks and stuff. Funny, the little details you notice when you are finally out there on a clear day able to do some washing, waxing etc. Unfortunately, I also noticed by my gas cap door, either the dealer or factory must have chipped the paint and then used touch up paint to fix it. I can't belive I did not see it when I picked it up. Well, since it took me this long to find it, I guess that says something about the match of the touch-up....maybe I should get some of that ....

I hear ya Norse. Well, that way in 2005 or 2006 models they can say - New improved non-rusting wheel wells (which will just be our wheel wells, minus that fiber stuff)
