I bought a 06 tl with a salvage title. Mileage was listed as TMU = True milage unknown, it had no odemeter cluster in it. If i take it to the dealer, will they be able to plug it into the computer and tell me the mileage?

Im pretty sure that the HDS will not read vehicle mileage, when you first put the VIN into the HDS you have to put in the vehicle mileage. I am reading on the IN about replacing a gauge control module and they say that you have to save and rewrite the odometer data from the old to the new using the HDS, if not done the new gauge module will be zero'd out or be locked reading -----. If says if this is not done could cause a DMV investigation and says if not you need to apply a TMU true mileage unknow notifictation sticker.

what is "locked reading" and I called montclair acura yesterday. they told me there is no way of finding out the original milage on the car. so pretty much I will have to get a cluster and start from there
