Installing Carbon Fiber Console Trim Kit

Hi Guys,
I was going to buy the Carbon Fiber trim kit for the console and I wanted to know if this was an easy install?
Thanks

If you're speaking of the Acura brand pieces that are placed on the area around the drinkholders, heated seat switches, and the rear piece, they are very easy to install.

If you're good with a squeegee, razor blade or exacto knife, and a hair dryer. Then go for it. It's really not that hard.

edit: Ah are you buying the Acura CF trim kit or the vinyl overlays? The vinyl overlays are easy.

Yes, I am getting the Acura carbon fiber front and rear console pieces. There are two pieces for the front (around the heated seat switches and drink holder) and the rear is two pieces as well. They have them in stock at the dealer but I didn't want to pay to have them installed.

Yes, the OE stuff is super easy.

Make sure it's reasonably warm, say above 60* or 70*.

Clean the surfaces with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol and make sure they are dry before appling.

Remove the tape from the new part, position, press and hold. Good to go.

....

One optionis to buy new and replace them. Not sure, but I think they are just clipped in. Check the 3G Garage for Service Manual Scans on removal - https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/3g-tl-garage-faq-3g-tl-newbies-553554/

Charles, I've had experience with the OEM carbon fiber. I can tell you I was not happy with it. The "threads" in the OEM pieces are very dark-you can't see the difference in the "threads". I opted for an online Carbon Fiber kit. As a matter of fact, Death Metal just purchased an online kit that looks terrific. I'm jealous of his new kit.

Bearcat is spot-on...the OEM kit is a "peel the 2 sided tape off and apply". It's very easy to install.

I would give this serious consideration. I also have the OEM carbon fiber steering wheel, and it too is too dark.

Here the steering wheel with the dark threads.

And here is my non-OEM kit. Notice how you car really see the difference in the threads.

This is why I went non-OEM with the Carbon Fiber.

My apologies to you if I've veered off course of your original question. I hope my input and pictures helps.

I have the oem carbon fiber steering wheel, piece around heater buttons, piece around the cup holder and the back two pieces for the back side of the middle console where the back passengers sit for my 05 tl. I love how they look and I don't have any issues with the leather on the steering wheel rubbing off onto my hands. I bought everything from tim who's use to work for hondaacuraworld.com but now works for oemacuraparts.com he's an awesome guy and always give great deals...
