Here's a pic of the NBP lip spoiler from superautobac, the top is painted, they cant paint the bottom as the 3m tape is applied there.

ya know... thats EXACTLY how my spoiler sat when I placed it on the trunk. There's no real way to push it back as the sides of the spoiler will not sit right. I ordered mine from Trimking and I think Imma have to send it back...

No sorry it didnt come with instructions. It is pretty straight forward though.
I believe there are a few threads that show/tell how to put the spoiler on.

A TIP:

I'll say lay the spoiler in sun for about an hour or so and bend it inwards. Mark the center and let it rest first and then the sides bending it inwards. You will be able to get it in place.

I usually don't like spoilers, but the TL lip spoiler is really good looking and you guys have really tempted me.

Do you think the 3M tape will hold after repeated carwashes? I don't want to have it peel off in a year or two.

Yeah I dont think that tape is coming off, unless you use some serious force, that thing is on there to stay. I think the lip spoiler looks best with the body kit myself.

Looks good!!! I have NBP as well. Did it come with the 3M tape, or did you go get some yourself? What kind of 3M tape was it?

I just received mine in Anthracite today. Just 4 business days wait. The material is top notch. The color match is 95% perfect, even better than A-spec bodykit. The paint job quality earns 95% from me as well. There are some tiny rough spots, but casual onlookers won't find them, unless they're looking for imperfections, like I did.

I'll install it next week, along with the A-spec bodykit. I'm still waiting for rear bumper part from the dealer.

Anyone have one of these in ABP? I was wondering what the paint match was like. The superautobac guy doesn't have ABP, but the trimking guy does. There's also a few listings from thespoilercompany.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...sPageName=WDVW

Anyone deal with them yet?

I am wondering the EXACT same thing. I have ABP and since superautobac doesn't have it, I want to know the best alternative. Superautobac knows how much I want it in ABP, but he still has no ETA for me after 2 months. I am probably going to go elsewhere as a result...

BTW, thespoilercompany told me it is made of eurethane and has the same warranty as the new car warranty.

You guys should email them if you havent so far, and tell them how much you want the spoilers, its worth it. I cant really comment on any other vendors, but I can tell you that superautobac's spoilers are a good quality.

I just emailed him using the address I found in another post in this thread. We'll see what happens. If he doesn't plan to offer it in the near future I will have to go with someone else. I just wish I could get an affirmation that the ABP paint matches.

I have emailed superautobac at least once a week to see if there is an update. He is well aware how much I want this spoiler in that color.

Very fast delivery, ordered on a Friday and it was here on a Tuesday. Color match was exact and install was no problem. It was well packed. Overall I was very happy and would buy from him again.

Good Luck.

I see all the lips, but what about the OEM wing from trimking...anyone have it?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=7985478913

I'm kinda torn between wing and lip, I guess wing would be more work to install.

i got my lip wing from xenon specialist yesterday...it is not the real acura lip for the TL its more like the lip that you see on M3's. For the price and fitment I'm very satisfied. The color matches the car perfect (yes it does have the blue pearl on NBP)

is the 3m adhesive effective in holding the spoiler in place? nobody's has come off so far?

and are there going to be rattles with this spoiler since it is just taped on

Thank you to anyone who can help me with these questions

Please note that surface preparation is the key to a good adhesive bonding to the surface. All the wax on the surface should be removed and the surface should be dry and clean. For wax removal, I suggest that you visit a local bodyshop and ask them if they would sell you a small quantity of their wax remover as this stuff is usually sold by the gallon.

After you have installed the lip, you should let it cure 24 hours without putting any force on the lip as the adhesive will reach it's maximum bonding force after 24 hours which means do not drive it on the freeway for 24 hours after the install, better yet leave it parked for that period.

The 3M adhesive tape is a foam type which should result in a rattle free instal.

This is the same kind of tape used to install cell phone antenna's on windows and I can tell you that this 3M adhesive tape is really sticking well even when I did some prolongued high speed driving (3 hours at over 100MPH) and the antenna never came off.

Best regards

frenchnew

ABP spoiler from Trimking

Well it took a while, but I finaly got my spoiler from trimking. The paint match is perfect. It's a lot harder to get in place than you would think. The tape keeps sticking before you can get it straight. Anyway here are some pics for those who want to know what it looks like in ABP.

I just ordered a deck lid. What do you mean it took a while? His auction says 2-3 days process and then UPS ground... so I envision a max of about 8 days total.
