You have to ask yourself one basic question:
Do I want to drive a car or an SUV?
With the winter we have had an SUV probably sounds pretty goog right about now. But, typically we don't get this much snow and winter is one season out of four.
I'm coming off a 4 year lease on an SUV and love the fun factor of the TL and how enjoyable it is to just take a drive. When it comes to cruising on the highway there is no comparison. I now find myself going places that I might not have in the SUV just because the ride is much more enjoyable. The only time I miss the SUV is when it is snowing or I need to haul something (hello Uhaul).
My 2 cents

i came from an escalade to this car--trust me my friend, this car is actually so much better of a vehicle to drive, let alone i was paying $400 a month in gas on the esco!!

If u live with ur mom and use the car at any time, go for it. As for buying her a TL, buy urself an 05 and giver her the one you have now. SUVs and Sedans are 2 totally different creatures. One car we are looking at along with the TL is the dodge magnum. You can get navi and blutooth for that. Our dealer would take us 500 below invoice. At our dealer we could get it with a 340 hp 390 torque v8 hemi, and AWD for base of a little over 30. Leather, 288 watt audio, side airbags, and fog lights are standard with the RT(hemi model). 0-60 in 6.19 seconds. ESP, VSA, all the fun stuff. If you want something AWD look at that, at least test it. No xenons though. As for the escalade, its thirstie, so gas prices will be high. The RT-AWD is 24-25 mpg cause it shuts off half the cylinders when they arent needed. Good luck.
