Could you explain your issues a little clearer? Thanks.
If you go to the dealership for the same issue "many" times in the short period, your situation "might" qualify for "lemon"...
Otherwise, I went to dealer the dozen of time in past 16 months already...

Hey, how have you been treated at that dealer, do they seem short with at all when you try to discuss any of the problems you've been having w/your car? I don't think you have a lemon because if thats all thats wrong with your your lucky. i've in there for alot of little things here and there. But nothing major....yet. I had them print me out everything i've had done or fixed since I've had the car. just in case, maybe you should do the same. Keep me posted. good luck.

Duplicating the symptoms is a MUST in a situation like this. The cause could be, among others:
- improper adjustment of the trunk striker
- defective latch
- defective switch in the latch
- short circuit in the wiring to the latch
- water intrusion somewhere in the circuit
These are just a few things I came up with off the top of my head. No self-respecting shop would attempt to make a repair at this point unless they could duplicate the problem so they can runs some tests while the symptom occurs, or at the directive of the manufacturer. Doing otherwise would leave them open to a lemon law/buyback situation.
Stuff like this is what gives us grey hair.

LOL. DO you have lo-jack installed? if so that the problem . it happened to em the 2nd day i had gotten my car. It is wired onto the trunk . thats why whenever you lock your door the alarm goes off liek 3 min after but when you dont ock your car the alarm doenst go off. for sum odd reason when they wire your lojack onto your trunk it makes the car belive your trunk is open when it really isnt . go to youre dealer and tell them to change the lojack to another location and get it off youre trunk sensor. problem solved. i had the same problem
