I like this stuff! (Amsoil)
Amsoil 5w-20 was run for 3539 miles from 3300-6839. Fuel Power (FP) was used about every other tank, though the usage of FP at every fill up may have made results even better.
I really like this stuff. For those applications calling for <10K drains, I feel that the Group III synthetics can be just as good, if not even better in this case than the Mobil 1 5w-20. It may be just me, but this oil seems to BEAT Mobil 1 in terms of Iron Wear.
Excellent TBN retention in this oil, IMO, this combo can be used for 6-8K w/o any problems.
I've seen a report with this oil on a 2002 Accord V6 as well, and it was used only for short city driving, and the TBN still reads 3.6 after 5,000 miles.

While I'm not usually a big believer in additives, the ones that I do trust are Fuel Power, Neutra 131 and my favorite, Auto-RX.
I've been using Fuel Power at 1oz per 4 gallons and have noticed a 1.5mpg increase. Actually I'm using a 3:1 mix of fuel power and Neutra 131

Cleanliness is next to godliness...
Timmy, thanks.
I have read about Auto-Rx and think I will get it for my Jeep which has 157,000 miles. It's still running sweet but I just know it must have some sludge in there even though it's always been maintained well.
Some guys will add Auto-Rx periodically to their oil as preventative measure to keep the engine clean.
Still waiting to hear how FP affects oil....

I'm currently running a maintenance dose of 3oz of Auto-Rx with every oil change. It's not totally necessary, but I do it for piece of mind.

Nice increase in calcium. Should keep the osteoperosis away from your TL as it ages.

Actually on my other forum board for my PRELUDE, we did a test of MOBIL 1 synthetic VS AMSOIL and we found out that the Amsoil did much better then MOBIL and a bunch of other run of the mill oils
Personally I used AMSOIL on my prelude for a long time even went to road racing with it. Never had a problem. even after removing the valve cover to check my cams..... i'm amazed at how clean the parts are. Draw back of AMSOIL is its a bit more expensive and not in stores.
PLUS AMSOIL ATF(automatic trasmission fluid ) been known to smooeth out tranny shifts in honda trannies and... on cold days such as we have up here in North east.... its been very good. Shifts are way smoother and quicker.
personally I would also look into ROYAL PURPLE they suppose to be even better then AMSOIL.

Insolubles are solid material that "is centrigued out of oil" according to Blackstone; the solid material is normally carbon from the oxidation of the oil.
What Fuel Power (FP) does is that it dissolves those carbon deposits. FP does more than that, it cleans the fuel system over time, and leaves a coating of oil I guess on the parts for extra protection.
It also lowers the freezing point of gasoline and increases the potential energy in the fuel mixture, as well as reduce carbon monoxide and nitrous oxide emissions. (reduces pollution)
The reduction of carbon and oxidation in oil can extend the life of oil. Excessive oxidation will eventually, overtime, cause varnish buildup and possibly thicken the oil.
Hope this helps,
Michael

Thanks for the info. A friend of mine is an Amsoil dealer but in the last catalog he gave me, 5-20 weight was not listed. I guess they have come out with it since. Good to know.

I agree with Michael that many products seem to perform better in the Honda engines than M1 - not sure what is going on with that product.

The add pack does not look that beefy for a GF-3.
