I joined the likes of you!
Well I just got home from signing the papers on a 04 TL w/Navi this afternoon. I should be able to pick it up tomorrow or Monday.
One question though, is it worth it to get the extended warranty? I was up in the air but now am wondering if I should have? Thoughts?
Anyways I love it! Damn smooth ride with even a smoother look and feel.
See you on the road!

Hello, and welcome to the forum.
Congrats on getting your new TL, and let us know your first impression after driving it.
As to the extended warranty, do you really think you will have it that long? Also, is it a Acura warranty, or is it farmed out to a sub?

The extended warranty is a definit must. This is coming from someone that never purchases an EW from any electronics, appliance, gameboy, notta. For example, I bought my wife an EW for her Sienna and we've already had two repairs totalling $200 over the cost of EW - both electronic.
I'm pretty sure that the mechanical on the TL is strong, but the electronic stuff can be tempermental (like a PC?) so the EW should come in handy. Besides, it's transferrable.

Is the 7yr/100k extended warranty useful? I believe the 4yr/50k warranty it came with covers everything including the electronics as long as it falls into that range.
I can tell you this, the test drive alone sold me! I can't wait to take delivery of it. Hopefully it will be tonight or Monday. I am hoping tonight since I have a 3 day weekend ahead of me.
I also want to say, this board is bountiful with great information and great people. You all gave me ammunition for great questions to ask and "negotiation" points.

Buy the extended warranty at the end of the regular warranty. There is no need to pay interest in something you wont need for four years anyway. That's if you keep the car after the warranty expires anyway if your like many of us that won't even be an issue because the car will be gone anyway!

I bought the EW (5yrs, 100k - $1020) mostly because of all the electronic components in the car, which are covered under the Acura Care EW. The warranty stays with the car (not the buyer) so it can be a nice selling point if you get rid of it before the EW expires.

Extende Warranties
If I were you I would never buy a extended warranty on a car.
There is a very big mark up on these. The dealer pays about $250 for these policies and they then charge whatever they want on it. For some people they will only charge $750 but if someone really wants one and they seem to have a large wallet then the dealers will mark them up to well over a $1,000. Trust me on this, I worked for a Insurance Company that sold these to the dealers.
If you feel you really need one then bargin on the warranty price as they are not fixed prices at all.
