I drove a new TL today...My CL-S is officially For Sale

I had the opportunity to test drive a new TL today. It was, to say the least, impressive. Here is my personal experience:

I was most impressed with how solid it felt, much more than my ’01 CL-S. The interior was extremely quite even at hwy speeds. The ride was smoother than my CL, but it seemed to handle just as good. The steering was very responsive as were the brakes.

Also, the (automatic) shift handle is a little smaller, as was the shift gate area. It’s more compact, I guess to make room for the larger cup holders, and I like it. The gauges are not only cool looking they are very easy to read. My wife and I drove it around 5pm, so you can imagine the glare. But the instruments were bright and clear. Can’t wait to see it at night.

The wood-look trim is very convincing and looks great with the tan interiors. But the black & gray interiors replace the wood with a carbon-fiber looking material that looks very good.

And finally Acura/Honda put a real sound system in this car! It rocks even without playing a DVD-A disc.

Because I’m a little picky, I am waiting to see several color combinations before purchasing one. I’m leaning towards the black/parchment, but the dark green pearl is nice too. But God willing, I hope to have one within the next 2 months. Anyone want a ’01 CL-S?

Did you drive one with or without navigation?

I drove one without navigation and sat in one with. I have navigation in both my CL-S and my wife's MDX, so I'm not that concerned with seeing it function. I know it's a little different from mine, but I'm getting the nav either way.

How about selling the MDX.

We've talked about it. I'd like to upgrade to an '04 to get more power and the DVD system. I also get frustrated with the outdated navigation. We'll probably wait until next spring though.
