There is no slot to run the cable all the way out and keep the console cover closed But, I have also found that I can run my cable out of the upper tray by just laying it on the driver's side of the latches. I can get the upper tray to close and latch with the cable sticking out. Not sure if this was intended, but it works for me. I do agree that there is no real place for the cable to run out of the upper tray.
My TL has a lil notch in the upper tray to where I can keep the center console cover closed. I guess that was something new they added in the 08s.

Yeah, kinda. The older ones do have the space to run the cord, but like someone mentioned it is along the drivers side back corner of the console, and not as easy to use. And it doesnt have to stay in the top section, i found that there is a space that the cord could run out, its just not as obvious. The newer ones had that new notch that runs out the "front" of the console that points towards the radio.

This feature is one the salesman mentioned to me when trying to sell me the car. Frankly, it scares the hell out of me. Try living somewhere that is snows, look out at your car and imagine a little kid finding your keys (or very bad luck in your pocket) and accidentally opening all of the windows and dumping a foot of snow into your car. It sounds cool but I really wish there was a way to disable this.

HA! The first time i discovered this (using remote to open all windows) i had my keys in my pocket and something jammed down on the unlock button.. I look outside and notice all of my windows are open! Wahhhhhhh It was in between rains so i got lucky.

I'm with you man, "very bad luck in your pocket" can lead to some serious sh!t

It's funny, I thought I knew everything about this car by now but I guess I was wrong, a few nifty features came to my attention just recently.

Maybe these 3 features are well documented as well as the other mentioned here, I'm not sure, but here they are anyway:

1. If after turning the ignition key to position 1 (killing the engine) you then immediately turn the key to position 2, the engine will restart instantly and automatically without the need for cranking (key position 3) and in my case (6MT), clutching in.

2. If you don't put the radio code in after the battery was disonnected not only can't you access cd, radio, and cassette player but you can't even put a cassete in the deck, the deck's cassette door is blocked. Nor can you get your cassette out. Not that anyone listens to cassettes anymore, I occasionally use a cassette Ipod adopter- still very old school.

3. On my 05 TL the rear passenger side floor mat is secured by a single hook similar to two hooks holding the front driver's mat. The driver side rear mat has no such hook.
In 04 TL there were no rear mat hooks at all. Interesting...

I'm not sure if I've even got a cassette anymore either....and I'm a disc jockey here in KC. I've been on the air for 31 years!

Continue holding the button down after the side widows are down. The sunroof is slower in opening.

Not to mention those who bought their cars used may not have received an owners manual.

I believe the hooks are to prevent the mats from flying under the seats and interfering with safety systems.

While utilizing the search to find out about replacing my glove box light, I ran across this post. I had no idea about the remote windows trick. I've only had the car for about a month and every night I forget to bring the manual in for a good reading. But this was great info. Thanks

I was also quite amazed when I read that my car did this...and I stepped outside my office at work to check. I was elated.

Depending on the vehicle, you may need to select the trip computer, and then press the down key on the info tabs.

P.S Nice job steven!
