As I am driving to work today...

So I'm driving down I-64E heading towards work this morning. I notice alot of new(er) cars driving by me, 2013 Hyundai Sonata's, 5&7 Series BMW's, Dodge Chargers with all their brand new techno-gadgets, newer safety features, updated entertainment packages (my 05 has no IPOD Aux )all around new-car goodies. I come to the conclusion that the 3G TL is STILL my fave amongst all the new generation cars. Granted yes I OWN a 3G TL but I cant help but admit that the 3G TL's design was damn near flawless. It may not be the fastest of its class anymore but it still has some pep in it's step. I still get people asking me if my 3G is a 2012 model! Yes I do take very good care of my 3g both exterior, interior and maintenance-wise, but that reflects alot on the whole design of the car. The downfall i can say about the car is i WISH, I WISH it was a RWD platform. But that is it the only thing i can say bad about the 3G. Sorry for rambling guys but I love this damn car.

Its a shame that the 3G's dont have a big aftermarket following. There are alot of things i want to do mine but just can't justify these prices!

I want to convert my front end to a TL-S with A-Spec. The one thing that keeps me from trading mine in for a TL-S is mines a 6Spd, and the price difference for a 6Spd TL-S just isnt worth it for me anymore. Especially after the money i just dropped into the timing belt service and new tires lol. But i will always gawk at a TL-S when i see one....Acura did it so right. Then the 4g... (no offense 4G guys)

The last couple weeks I've driven a ton. My TL lives on the highway. The front end is pitted by rocks and bugs. It sucks. I'll eventually get the front end painted. That all said, she's been working beautifully. 128K miles and feels better than when I first got her. The car is a dream to drive.

Tires are perfectly balances. Wheels are aligned. Suspension is holding....although it's replacement is waiting in the garage. Car is sucking in clean cold country air. I've gotten over 30 mpg in my last 5 fill-ups. YES - 5. Trans is shifting smooth. All is good in the TL world.

After going to a meet last night.. the 4G has fully grown on me. It all started after a buddy of mine purchased a 4G SH-AWD. The interior is amazing... a HUGE upgrade from the 3G.

I've always wanted a TL. When I got mine in June I was in Heaven. 4 months later, the honeymoon is still on. Saving my pennies for when it is time for a new one. I don't think I'll buy another brand of car.

I think the problem is that most of us compare the moded 3g to a regular 4g TL and of course it doesnt live up to it. But when i see some moded 4g TL's with that massive body, it really stands out. Combine that with all wheel drive and 6speed manual.... perfect combo.

Im not sure if i would buy it but i see why some do.

Idk, The 3g TL's are heavy enough as it is. Around 3500lbs if im not mistaken, aren't the 4g's around 3800-3900lbs curb weight? I like the sportiness of the 3G vs. the 4G's more luxurious. Just my opinion though of course.

A guy in a 2010 accord asked me if my car was the new TL model.

And erry body says "Thats a nice BMW" or "Thats a nice Lexus"!

Despite how good the 3G TL is, I am starting to see its age. Acura really needs to step it up on the next redesign of their line-up. However, I hear that nasty grill is not going anywhere.

4g looks really good if you drop it really low with some big wheel and of course some how make that ugly beak disappear. the interior is amazing plus SH-AWD is a huge bonus.

Typesex05: FIY 3rd TL is around 3400 lbs - 3600 lbs depend on years and model. 4g TL is around 3800 lbs - 4100 lbs depend on models and package.

Ok so the SH-AWD weighs 4000lbs? 300hp or not, other then a better launch from a stop, that car cant be very fun to drive or decent on gas.

^^^believe or not that SH-AWD will put a smile on your face when driving on twisty mountain road. 2012 SH-AWD TL with advance package are weight just shy 4001 lbs.

The interior is almost identical to the 3G, just more refined. Even the navigation is still sloppy looking in the 4G. It's really not that much of a difference.

I do like the orange + black combo that I had in the SH-AWD for a rental though, that was nice.

Actually, if you have ever driven one before, the SH-AWD is faster both out of the hole and in a 50-90mph run, comparing autos. MT, I'm not sure. There is definitely noticeably more there though. It rips through the top end.

That's pretty much how I feel. When buying a car, I really couldn't think of another car(within reason) that I wanted over it. I've been happy with my decision ever since.

Fun is obviously subjective, but I think you should drive one before coming to that conclusions. That thing can take corners like a champ and even though it's not a jet, it's not a tank either.

People can never believe that mines an 04, they think its at least a 2009 or 10, the only thing that shows age is my car's paint, but Im gonna be repainting it next year. Once my first TL was totaled I tried other cars but I knew I had to get another one, and I finally found the perfect one.

Well if i ever do take the time to drive a 6Spd 4G ill come to my final conclusion then. But it is going to be hard for me after driving my buddies Evo IX MR, especially if you are comparing the awd platform in curvy roads or whatnot. But im always willing to try something new

I'm still in love with mine too...
it's not a master of any one category, but it's definitely a jack of all trades.
Looks, power, tech, mpg, reliability, sound...just can't be beat.

I get the same...9 years old...WHAT!?!?
