Hunter GSP9700 Balance

I brought my new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires which I purchased at Costco to Brookside Friendly Service in Summit, NJ for the Hunter Balance. The Brookside guy said Costco did a pretty good job. He made some adjustments which I notice when I drive. The balance seems perfect although it was not bad from Costco.
I would recommend Brookside if your in Northern NJ as he was only $18 a tire and the guy is really into this stuff. When I called the other places mostly large auto dealerships they wanted $30-$32 a tire.

I chose Costco because they give you road hazard with the $9 a tire installation package and the road hazard warranty seems better than the tire rack warranty for almost $25 a tire. Costco is also currently running a $60 off with purchase of 4 Michelin tires.

I kept my EL42s and will put them back on before I trade the car. Maybe Acura/Bridgestone will even exchange them for something better but I decided not to wait. It is winter time and with the pot holes around here I would hate to pay over $200 a tire to replace an EL42.

Do you mind telling us how much for your Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires?

Thanks.

They are on Costco.com.

Regular price $216 each, mounted and balanced. $60 off per set of four, which comes to $804 plus sales tax, if any (varies by state and location, of course). Shipping is included on the special order tires. For many people, that beats Tire Rack.

Rets,

Hybrid is correct on the price. The $60 coupon is automatically applied online. If you keep your EL42s Costco refunds the $4 disposal fee which was included in the 215.99 per tire price. Ask for the refund when you have the tires installed.

Thanks for info from you and Hybrid. If Acura doesn't announce anything in a month, I'll swap my tires...

I need to get over to Costco and check out their tire deals. I read about another, much less expensive tire being sold there that was rated very high by CR or some magazine like that. I just can't remember the brand name.

Check out the Costco deals online. The stores only carry a limited selection. The Costco program seems to be that you select your tires online and they ship them to your local Costco for installation.

For the truely lazy at heart: nearest Pilot A/S sports in stock and ready. Turned out to be NTB. $210 each less $80 each to rid myslef of the Crapanza's. W/all the bells and whilstles, out for under $600. An insurance policy for the remaining DC winter and spring rains to come. A bit more noise, but a much improved ride...and no thump, thump, thump. "Noise" is worth knowing I won't go hydroplaining off into my next life. Want my bucks back from the bean counters, having been blown off by local service department. Guy at NTB asked why I was dumping the EL 42s. I didn't know where to start.

Anyone interested should be aware that the $60 Costco discount expires Feb. 1. A deal like frqwntbyr's is even better, if you can find a local Michelin dealer that will take your EL42's in trade.
