How's insurance on the TL....in the Bay Area, CA?

I just put in a deposit and will have the car early April. Any ideas? I am married, the car is for my wife who is 28.

I'm single, 31. $980 a year ... Liberty Mutual. The car is leased, so I have full coverage.

Mine went up very slightly in the Bay Area from a 2000 328Ci 5M. I was surprised it was higher (just a little, like 5%), but it could be because the book value of the TL was higher than the older bimmer, offset by somewhat lower projected repair costs. Also, many insurance companies key off HP ratings, so that's a factor since the 328Ci was around 193 rated HP vs. 260. Then, most insurance companies also rate on the number of doors, 2 doors is more expensive than 4, all else being equal. Finally, insurance companies have different actuarial structures and appetites at any given time, so your experience will be different than mine. I'm w/ Mercury, 39, married for whatever all of this is worth.

It's always a good idea to check with your broker before buying any car, just so you don't get any unpleasant surprises after it's too late.
