How would you build your TL?
I really like the new TL, and as my first post to this board I am going to ask a really dumb question.
If you were to build your TL (or really any car), what elements would you take from other manufacturers?
For example
- 2004 TL dashboard, DVD audio system (displaying my lack of car stereo knowledge) & Nav (oooh gotta have that Nav)
- Volvo S60R active chassis (selectable suspension settings)
- Volve S60 sport leather seats (that leather is so soft and durable and the comfort is amazing), or maybe BMW sport seats with montana leather
- BMW-esque ~50/50 weighting & E46 M3 coupe styling
- Audi Quattro AWD
- BMW 3.0L I6 (I have an issue with the crappy torque curve of the TL - even my 94 Eagle Vision Tsi has more pull at lower RPM!)
- BBS 18" rims (not sure what model) and Pilot Sports
- 4-piston Brembo's all around, drilled rotors (Porsche style)
All for the low low price of $20k of course!

Adding in $20K? Nothing. I wouldn't change anything. If I were going to spend $20K more I'd get a 5-Series and not have to compromise on anything.
To me all of the attraction of the TL is bang for the buck. The unbeatable bang for the buck.

OK forget the $ point, I was kidding there, obviously
i have read a lot of comments about cross shopping G35s, etc
were torque curves part of anyone's decision making process?

i mean, r we talking ab peices from other cars put together to form a dream car around low 30k (price of TL)?
in that case....the syling of...
g35C taillights
A4 shaped windows
g35c hood/fender
SL grille
04 TL headlights
m3 front bumper
Mugen TSX rear bumper
03 TL sideskirts
04 TL side body
S60R engine w/ 6 spd tranny
Audi quattro supsension
M3 19s
does this sounds good? yes... im taking all of the diff popular car accents. this may be a "sold out" way to look at things, but then again look at the current TL, its a combo of a galant, camry, accord, etc...

Galant? Camry? Maybe it has a little accord flavor to it at a quick glance, but come on.
Everyone that has seen my car has said it looks like nothing else and I agree. I think the TL styling is very unique.
My build:
TL with 350HP Engine
Better Exhaust
AWD
18" racing wheels
Built in Radar Detector that shows Johnny Law's position on the Navi screen

Interesting, let's see...
Starting with the '04 TL, add:
- Audi Quattro AWD.
- The softer leather seats from the '01 A4.
- Audi's heated seats - still the hottest I've ever tried! They've got 6 different settings, and they don't shut off automatically when you keep them on High.
- Audi's interior colors: ecru leather (lighter than the TL's parchment, without the yellow-ish hue) and REAL wood trim.
- The BRIGHT red exterior of the TSX, G35c or Accord coupe.
(Yes, my last car was a screamin' red A4, and I still miss being able to spot it so easily in a parking lot...)
And oh yeah, apwalsh's suggestion of the built-in radar detector that shows cops on the Nav system - fantastic idea!

I'd take pretty much everything about a 330i except the interior and sticker, and replace those with the Acura TL.
I think the 330i with performance package is just about the best driving vehicle on the road today. The TL has a much, much better interior (IMHO), and a much, much, much better sticker price.
