I'm just curious how much you guys pay for your insurance for your TL.
If you dont mind sharing, please provide your age, insurance company, and your premium.
Because it is very hard to judge only on your premium without other factors.
Somehow I felt I am over-paying them
Who cares if it is a repost!!!! It fun to do this. I feel I am getting A$$ Raped and I only pay about $85 a month for full coverage. I pay it every 6 months in full and it is $500. Still sucks. Next....

PS: I am 38, USAA Insurance.

This thread is meaningless if your goal is to compare premiums because there are so many variables that factor into the premium, including age, sex, marital status, driving history, where you live, amount you drive*, purpose of driving*, whether you have other policies with the same carrier, amount of deductible, amount of policy limits, etc. The insurers probably say race doesn't factor in, but I'm sure it probably does in some manner (i.e. blacks pay more). Also bear in mind that different states have different insurance requirements in terms of minimum limits of liability and the like, so those will affect your premium as well.

*Amount you drive and purpose of driving: Many insurance carriers will want to know whether you drive the car to and from work, whether you drive it more than 100 miles a week, and whether you drive it over 7,500 miles a year. If the answer to any of these is "yes," it justifies a higher premium due to increased risk of loss. Lying about this is a very bad idea, as lying on the policy application gives the carrier the right to void the policy for misrepresentation of a material fact.

Anyway, I'm 36, white male, and single, I live in Northern Virginia, and I pay State Farm $97.64 a month total for two cars (breaks out to $64.81 a month for the TL and $32.82 for the RX-7). I get a multiple lines discount because my homeowner's coverage is also with State Farm, I get a multicar discount, I get a vehicle safety discount for the TL, and I get an accident-free discount for both cars <pauses to knock on wooden desk>. I have a $250 collision deductible and I have no deductible on my comprehensive coverage. So all that reduces the premium. On the other hand, I carry more than the statutory minimum limits of liability because they're absurdly low in Virginia. State law requires minimum limits of $25,000 for bodily injury/death of one person, $50,000 for bodily injury/death of two or more persons, and $20,000 property damage. Only a fool carries limits that low living in Northern Virginia. The number of expensive cars on the road, including Mercedes-Benzes that cost over $100,000, Lexuses and BMWs that cost $50,000 or more, etc., makes it idiotic to carry only $20,000 in PD limits, in particular. I carry $250,000/$500,000 BI and $100,000 PD, plus the same limits for the UIM coverage. (Think about it—if you're at fault in wrecking some guy's $80,000 Jaguar and you only have $20,000 of PD limits, guess what happens after your insurance pays out the $20,000? The aggrieved party goes after YOU.)

I know we have some people posting on this board who are young enough still to be in school. If you haven't investigated whether your carrier offers a good student discount, you should. (When I was in high school, my parents' rule was that if my grades weren't good enough to get the discount, I didn't get to drive. Talk about an incentive....)

I'm curious and amused by how many people say "full coverage." That's a fairly meaningless phrase in a forum such as this one (with posters from all over the US and Canada) because every state and province has its own requirements for what insurance is required.

I'm jealous, I pay 300$ a month for 98 TL liability and 06 TL 50k full coverage. If I was a primary driver on the insurance I will pay 440 a month just for my 06 TL.
