How is MT for the passenger(s)?
I've never driven a stick shift and I figure if I get a TL someday, I'll want to get it with a stick. But I want a car that's a good balance. One that's fun for me to drive, but comfortable for everyone else in the car. I've been in manual transmission cars and always hated the shifting action. It's bad enough on the older automatic transmissions to feel the car jerk, but at least the new Honda autos have much smoother shifting. Forget about how fun it is for the driver. How is it from the perspective of passengers? And please don't tell me that I shouldn't worry about the comfort level of passengers. Someday I'll have a family and I don't want them hating to ride in my car. It just seems like there's a tradeoff with MT. The driver has more fun but the passengers suffer more.

That's only when your driver is gear incompetent. If you didn't learn to drive on a manual and have been driving autos for a long time you'll probably be gear incompetent to. Its like driving a bike If you learn when little you're a lot more skilled than if you learn at an older age.

an Acura has-been
I had been driving a manual for 20 plus years, after most told me that I was smoother than thier auto under typical driving conditions.
If you have been in unskilled driver's cars, then yes, it can be jurky.

Ive been driving a manual since i was 14. I even too took my road test in a 5 speed stick. Most people didnt even know my 91 legend sedan was a stick i shifted so smooth. The Acura clutch is a easy one and engages very smooth and easily once you get used to it. Most drivers that drive a stick will never accept an automatic unless they have to.
