How many days from Ship -> Delivery
Just curious as to how long it took for those of you that ordered. My car was shipped last week, and I was wondering when I should expect it. The dealer said by Wednesday, but I was wondering what everyone's actual experience was.
Thanks

The first leg of the journey is done via train - there is high variability in train delivery depending on the number of switchyards gone through and the specific train scheduling.
I suppose for locations really close to Ohio, they might truck them with less variability.

I asked this same question and got like one reply ![Frown](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Anyway, My car shipped on Friday so I am calling the dealer today to see if he got it yet. I would assume it will be in by Wed since I am only 9 hours away from Marysville by car.

I asked my dealer the very same question and he put it like this.
He said you get a build date range. And then when its actually built, the VIN# is given to the dealer. I assume the vehicle is shipped either that day or the very next business day since it doesn't pay for the factory to hold on to the car and take up space. Dealer told me it would take an average of 10 days after build date. This is to allow for actual delivery to the port nearest to your dealer and then the unloading of the cars into a warehouse. Then sorting and shipping to individual dealers. Now he told me that it could take as long as 10 days because of the way the inventory is unloaded into the warehouse. I believe they use LIFO for those that are accounting savy. This means Last In First Out. So the cars are unloaded and the ones unloaded last leave the warehouse first. If you are unlucky and your car is the first in to the warehouse you have to wait in line to get on a truck.
Hope this helps and sorry for the long post.

Wouldn't "coming into a port" imply that it is coming into the country from overseas? In fact the cars are built in Ohio, so they would only need to ship (by rail) to warehouses, then by truck/car carrier to the individual dealers.
On that note, does anyone know where the various warehouses are located, particularly on that would serve Richmond, VA

I had gotten a call March 31 with the VIN, car being shipped next day and estimated delivery at dealer April 6-7. Didn't arrive. Date then changed to 8th.
Didn't arrive on the 9th. Called the 12th; car was at the Ridgefield, NJ terminal and he had a delivery date now for the 13th and couldn't see why it wouldn't arrive then. That this kind of wait was unusual. Well it didn't. On the 14th I then got in touch with the trucking co (I was really going nutsy back then :banghead: ). Found out car had just been dispatched that morning for delivery. Got call the morning of the 15th from dealer that car arrived.
So for me, it was 2 wks from shipping.

I'm guessing you got held up because of LIFO. You're car was probably in the port when it was supposed to be. The only thing was that it was all the way in the back of the warehouse.
