How long are the light bulbs in the steering wheel supposed to last? I keep paying the dealer to install new ones (my "well invested" acuracare warranty does not cover light bulbs- go figure) but they burn out pretty quick ~8 months. Does acura warranty their bulbs? I am getting fed up with them blowing out this quick

I don't know about the steering wheel bulbs specifically, but I have had a similar issue with the Navi, MID, and Climate control button lights. Thankfully they have all been covered by the OG warranty, but thats expired now, so the next round is on me. They arent all that expensive, but most of them have to come from the dealer as I've been unable to find out the bulb size. The only thing I have found that seems to prolong the life of the bulbs is to turn the display brightness all the way down.

i was going to ask the same thing. i got an 06, but it has only been driven for a year, and all the buttons on the left side of the wheel are already blown

wow. just got off the phone with the acura dealership. $115 plus tax for the two bulbs installed. they come with a 12 month/ 12,000 mile warranty. i just got them replaced in october but am over the 12,000 miles .
i remember seeing a post on this website showing how to replace these bulbs. i guess i will have to take a look at at. in my opinion, it is kinda sad how this is a common problem.

Here is a post I found on how to replace the steering wheel light bulbs:
<https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=146748>
The guide mentions to clear any DTC's when finished. I can guess that since the negative terminal of the battery is disconnected, it shouldn’t set the airbag DTC. Is this correct? I really dont want to have any additional issues after I fix the crappy light bulbs...

my lights on the right side of my steering wheel went out one night. but then they misteriously came back on a couple of days later. then about 1 month later they went out again. i had a horrible day and was so mad i banged the steering wheel with my fist and they came back on. then, they went out again- but this time they were out for a good 2-3 months, but then one day they came back on.. i don't think they blow out.. i think there is a bad connection in there somewhere.

Same thing happened to me the other day, i was driving and hit a couple little bumps, and the lights flickered out. Tapped the steering wheel and now theyre fine.
