How long does the new car smell last?

I think it depends on what you do in it.
Some say mine smells new when they get in. They're surprised to learn it's two years old. I don't allow food in it, I don't smoke, and it's almost always in a garage.

I stopped noticing the new car smell in the TL after a couple of months; there is just a faint whiff of car leather now after 16 months or so.

Mine is six months old, and still has "the smell".
No smoking, no food, only AC Recirculate (no fresh air via vent). I live in a very humid city, so I don't let outside air enter thru the AC vent.
