I called the 800 number and they told me to go into the dealer to get the paperwork started. Advise, tell them that you broke down, and that you had no option but to put a new battery in the car, an Acura dealer was not close by. Also, keep the original battery (eat the $5 core price), because the dealer will need to send it back.
I am pretty sure that I will get my $60 back, but it might take a few weeks.

I was hoping not to have this problem, but last night when I was getting in my car to leave work I got the slow crank when starting my car.
34,000 miles and 2 yrs 10 months.
Funny thing is I got the new NAVI disc and installed it thursday morning, car started like a champ. Thursday night battery issues appeared. I'll be taking it to the dealership tomorrow morning (hopefully).

My battery only lasted 694 miles. That's right only 694 miles from the time I drove it off the lot at the dealer. I left car in the garage for 2 days to go on a business trip and came back and the car was DEAD. Called the service number they came out and jumped it for me. Let it idle for 10 minutes then pulled out of my garage then it died again and wouldn't start. Came back out and rejumped it and limped into dealer. While I'm on the subject does anybody have an e-mail where I can write to ACURA about a window problem I'm having that the dealer will not look into?

hmm, interesting, I'm surprised to see that so many of you are having problems with the oem batteries. Mine is sluggish also, and I just got the car. Maybe it's the cold weather.
Did anyone try Optima Yellow Top? I loved it in my 2G (before it was stolen).

Wow, I'm glad I found this thread
Yesterday when I started my car I noticed it was sluggish. I thought it was getting time to go buy a new battery, but now I'll take it to the dealer instead. It is 2 years old this month, which seems to be average for many others. Hopefully they don't try to blame it on my CAI.

Well it died today. I called my dealer and found out it is covered, however it will take them a while to get to it and they don't give loaners for battery changes. Guess I have to sit and wait tomorrow

Yep, battery itself is covered but they charge you something like $35 to switch it out. I just bought a new one @ AutoZone when my OEM one died after 3.5 years. $40 and he changed it out for me. I didn't have to drive it to a stealership. I didn't have to loose 3 hours of my day waiting around on their schedule, etc.

Never heard of a dealer that doesn't have batteries in stock for cars made within the last few years.

yeah, my dealership told me they don't give out loaners when your car is in for a battery change. They have them in stock, but they are pretty booked tomorrow. Since I can't get a loaner I'll have to sit and wait for them to finish my car. I might try waiting til the 26th. Then I can at least play with my PSP while I wait.

My first battery died at 18months, I had to be towed to dealer, no charge. 2nd Battery lasted 19 months, called roadside assistance, after about an hour they arrived, drove to dealer, three hours later had new battery at no charge. Getting stranded every 18 months is a pain!

Mine died when I went to pick it up after the power steering hose recall...Service Manager was embarrassed when he went to bring the car up and it wouldn't start 06 w/ 33,000'ish...dealer replaced under warranty. I had no sluggish start symptoms prior to battery dying so I'm glad it puked out where it did

06, 1.5yrs, 50,000 miles. Mine was getting sluggish and if I left the radio running with the engine off for more than 5 minutes the battery was dead. I replaced it before it left me stranded and before it cost me an alternator and starter too. I paid for a new Optima out of pocket, worth it to avoid the dealer touching it.

I didn't give my battery a chance to die.......I traded in an 04 TSX for my 08 WDP TL-S. The TSX had a 6 month old Optima yellow top. My sales person allowed me to swap batteries. Didn't want to chance it having a bad battery in the TL. Plus I paid so much for the Optima. I've had the TL since April 25th and no starting issues....... Boy that Optima can crank

The Original battery lasted from March 04 (new car) to May 06. Second battery lasted May 06 to July 08. I'm on the third battery. They are all 'Acura' batteries.
I drained the second battery while installing the ipod interface (in February) after I jumped the car. A couple of weeks ago I let the car sit for 4 days and then it was cranking slow.
I noticed that my remote range had dimished considerbly, and I thought it was time for a new remote battery, but it was the car battery. As soon as I replaced the car battery, the range returned to normal.
I will replace the battery with an aftermaket on the next go around.
I have 115K miles.

My battery died with 2300 miles on my '08 TLS. I jumped the car and it works fine now. According to AAA, the high temperatures and humidity cause batteries to die.

From what I am reading it appears 2 years is a stretch for most batteries. It is not worth the trouble to take to steelership or take chance of getting stranded. Just replace with Interstate battery, I swear by them. Just replaced one in my wifes SUV, 75K miles on it, previous car had one with 100K miles and it was still strong. Why take changes with poor quality acura battery (I know they dont make them) for a $90 battery. 1 hour of lost time is worth more than that not to mention the agrevation

Well, my 2nd battery died Thanksgiving week. After the car sat for 3 days it was dead. I called Acura and got the car in last Monday. They found out my HFL ( which I havent used since i switched phones a couple of months ago) was drawing excess current. They replaced it, and said I still had a slight power draw, which was traced back to my DICE unit. I won't be disconnecting that , so I guess I'll have to deal with the constant power draw.
This wll be my last battery covered under warranty, so i guess I should start thinking about what I will replace it with in 2 years.

5 Years 3 Months is what my battery lasted. Funny thing is how quickly this thing can die (14 hr span to not have enough juice to start the car) - think it is probably only one cell that's bad. O
I know Acura will pro-rate tha battery up to 100 months, so I would only get 37 bucks toward a new one, but I will go with a stronger aftermarket battery.

My oem lasted 2005-2008, dealer replaced 2008-oct 2012. Funny seem to only last 3 years on each. Got stuck at wawa but lucky got a jump start and drop by pepboys to get a new one. Hopefully, aftermarket ones last longer then Acura Battery. Kinda dissappointing.

My 04 have a duralast I believe is a yellow top.( It was replaced by the last owner)
So I went to a business trip for 6 days, left the car sitting on the garage. Came back yesterday and my car won't even open. The suck thing about it is that my manual key opener on the door is broken because someone tried to steal the car before. So now I have no way to get inside of the car to open the trunk..and I really don't want to call a locksmith to open it with air pump because I don't want to have a chance to bend the door not even a little.
Any suggestions ?
