I forgot to knock on wood. Mine died yesterday. Sam's Club has the Energizer 7 yr battery for $48. Pretty tough to beat that price considering if it dies in the first three years free replacement and after that it is prorated

My 04 AT lasted about 52k before I had to replace the battery, but I know it was more me than the battery. I park my car in the garage and too often have left the trunk lid ajar, or one of the interior lights on. I don't drive everyday so a couple of times it was over the weekend and when I came back the battery struggled to start the car. Once fired up, it was fine.
When I went in for service, they told me I needed to replace it. I drove for another two oil changes before I finally gave in. Once it gets discharged, it will probably never be the same.
No issues with newbie battery.

I just had my battery replaced in my '05 TL, which is just now barely over 2 years old and around 25K miles. As usual with batteries, it hit real quick - one day it cranked fine the next it was dead. Mine wasn't covered under the service bulletin that addresses the continuous draw of power from the nav system when shut off, so I pursued the warranty route with the dealer.
Sure enough, they replaced it today as the old battery failed the load test (big shock as I tried to charge it for a day and had no luck at all). Acura must really put cheesy low rate batteries into these cars, because I've never had a battery die in 2 years, and that includes living in extreme climates in the past.
Anyway, my dealer was extremely helpful and didn't hesitate to provide the service free of charge. I'm glad I thought to contact them after researching the trusty TL forum; I was about to go out and buy a battery myself and shell out the $$ out of pocket.
The moral of the story - always check the forum first, then contact the dealer and be nice. The worst they can tell you is no.

My battery lasted just over three years (~25k). Replaced it with an Everstart from Wally World...top rated in CR...$60...free replacement for three years, prorated after that until seven.

Full of water...
i bought my car new about 8.5 months ago, and it now has 20,000 miles, and the battery was replaced by Acura at my last service because it failed the test. its an early 2006 build so it was probably sitting for a while before i bought it.

I have an 04 with 37k miles and the battery is still great. I was in getting an oil change and the battery still pulled well over 500 cranking amps - from what I understand that is good. I have never had issues with batteries in any of the cars that I have owned. I generally keep cars for 7 or so years and move on, maybe that is why I have never had to replace the battery. I think that the other key is that I drive my car everyday with very few exceptions. On these drives the shortest distance I ever travel is about 10 miles so I feel like that distance allows the battery to actually take a charge. That might not be true at all, I just know that I don't have issues with my batteries. Oh and I live in Michigan so it gets real cold here in the winter (below freezing most of the winter and into negitive numbers at times) and 80s and 90s in the summer.

Replaced mine 2 weeks ago after 43 months since I got the car. I've noticed slightly hard starting lately when the engine was cold so I had it tested. It came up at 334CCA versus the 550 its supposed to be. The cold Winter weather is just around the corner and I don't like to get stuck. Went to Walmart and got the yellow Everstart 24FN-Maxx, 875CA, 700CCA. The one rated A CR Best Buy by Consumer Reports in the 24F Group. 3 Year replacement warranty.
Stealership wanted $75 to replace it with an original as I have an '04.
I now have a better battery for about the same $$.

Just got mine replaced at the dealer today ('05 w/ 33k), battery went dead after I used the HFL for 15 minutes after turning the car off yesterday. Dealer was super cool about it, I was in and out in less than an hour with no appointment.

My '05 w/ 60k miles is 2 and a half years old and the battery still seems to be going strong. I will have it tested this weekend just to make sure.

bought my car new, 2006 model, battery died at 29500 miles, bought my car for 1 year and 8 months.
went in dealer, replaced for free under warranty.
SA said batteries on our cars tend to live shorter cuz of all the techies like HFL + Navi etc...

Just wait until your battery gets to be 3 or 4 years old, then try to come back and play Energizer Bunny.

04 OEM Battery still going strong....
Bought my 04 TL with Navi in August 04.
Car sits outside in the cold Ottawa Winters and Hot Ottawa Summers.
No issues whatsoever with it 48K kilometres or 30K Miless.
Knock on wood and I hope I have not just jinxed myself :-)

Well, bought the car new in March of 05. Had battery 1 replaced mid 06, then had battery 2 replaced September 07.
So I am currently on # 3. I tried to get them to give me credit to purchase a different battery, but they would only replace it with the crap ones they carry.

My original battery (31K miles, 2 year 9 months old) died last night very suddenly (it worked fine all day and when I cam back to it at night, was almost dead. No lights or accessories were left on).
I'm off to Norris Acura in a couple hours for them to replace it, they said it's 100% covered.
After a jump start last night my VSA, Brake, and VSA warning lights were lit the whole way driving home. The battery was dead again as soon as I turned off the TL in my garage despite the ~30 mile drive.
So much for Delco batteries, the one in my wife's Honda Pilot did last a little over 4 years.

Mine died a couple of weeks ago
05 TL, purchased Oct 05. 25K miles. Was just getting ready to head home to see the family for a weekend, turn the key...really fast clicking, but no start. Called Acura Roadside & they were there with a jump start in about 30 mins. So that worked and i thought I'd just left my lights on or something.
Anyway, I head out...after about an hour-and-a-half of driving, I pick my brother up, put his stuff in the trunk, get ready to head out again...click, click, click...argh! Was about 3.45pm on Saturday. So I got another jump from my bro, called the Acura dealer in Kansas City (Superior) to see if they could get me in to take a look before they go home...no problem. I get to KC at about 4.45...15 mins before closing and the guys still took care of me. Said the battery had one cell that tested bad, and replaced it under warranty. Made it home in time for (late) dinner.
Anyway, this is the first problem I've had with my TL since I bought it two years ago and have to say I am impressed with how everything worked out.

My '04 TL won't hold a charge more than 2 weeks without charging. The battery tests fine at the dealership, but I believe the TL with all it's fancy gadgets just draws too much trickle current from the battery when it's parked. The clock, alarm, navi all draw a few millampers of current. I have a '94 Honda DelSol....bought it used 4 years ago and the battery isn't much larger than a motorcycle battery...but it holds it's charge just great. That car has nothing other than a LED clock drawing from the battery.

My wife's TL is an '04 with 32,000 miles. The battery lasted exactly 2 years and was replaced this week. Warranty only paid for a pro rated replacement of like 25%.
I also have a TL. It's an '05 with 52,000 miles. So far, I'm still on the same OEM battery.

The battery on our '08 TL Navi was dead after sitting for two days in the garage. The car had 2000 miles on it at the time.
Called my buddy to borrow his battery booster pack and I jumped it. Drove it to the dealer to have it checked, it tested out fine.
It's at 2600 miles now and so far no more problems. I still think it seems a little sluggish when I start it sometimes, especially now that it's cold out.
We'll see what happens when we take it on a road trip to Florida in a couple of weeks. I'm considering buying a battery booster pack to put in the trunk. I really don't want to get stranded somewhere between Ohio and Florida.
Our '05 TSX has never had any battery issues and it has 25,000 miles on it. I always leave the climate control on and I have a bad habit of leaving the radio on also. I do the same with the TL. It seemed logical that since it was auto climate control that I could leave it on. I always did in my other cars. What does everyone else do?
