How to increase "blue glow" from roof?

I think the blue ambiance light wich falls from the roof is little too week and needs to be more powerful. Can this be modified to glow more than it is now, can only changing LEDs will help? What needs to be done?

those LEDs are surface mount and are soldered to the circuit board thats in there, it would be possible to change them but would be a large pain in the a$$ and i dont think you could improve them in any way

I work in the electronics field and I can say without looking at the circuit board there is most likely a current limiting resistor in series with the led and it would make sense they are using the same diode as in all the other places. Simply installing a lower value resistor will increase the light to probably the same glow as around the volume knob. Replacing the LED will do nothing because it will still have the same amount of current flowing through it. Just my 2cents. I have not looked at the circuit board toconfirm this but it is a standard design for these types of things.

If you have your Navi screen set to 'Auto', meaning it will switch to black when you turn on your parking/headlights, the guage cluster will dim with it along with the ambience blue LEDs. If you set your screen to 'night' at night you can turn up the brightness to full and the blue light shining down will be brighter. Your instrument cluster will be brighter also. I tried this and found the instrument cluster was too bright for me. The LED's are bright, its the color. My BMW has red LED's, they seem brighter because the color is red.

Hope this helps
