How hard is the BMW M3 manual transmission? is it harder than the TL-S?
My friend was telling me that the 2009 BMW M3 and the g37 are one of the harderst manual transmission to learn?
Is it harder than the TL-S?

I don't know about the G, but I didn't have any trouble doing a burnout and getting to 165 in a 2008 M3. The clutch may be stiffer, but you get used to it. My car is tough to get used to because of the removed slave cylinder check valve and Stage 2+ clutch, but I think it feels solid. My brother's car had a Stage 4 clutch and 500 ft/lbs. Going from either of our cars to a "regular" car there is a noticeable difference. Going from a stock TL-S to a stock E90/2 M3 shouldn't be much different, other than the M3 being badass.
As far as learning to drive a stick, I don't think you should do it on the M3 purely because of the power. Start on an econobox that isn't worth 60k.
Oh yeah, the 370Z has a syncro-match (?) system that automatically raises the RPM when you shift, making the engine speed match the tranny speed, therefore making the shifts perfect. I would imagine the G37 has the same exact system. Also, BMWs have some of the most enjoyable manual transmissions ever. I would dare say your friend doesn't really know what's up. Just a guess.

I cant speak for an 08 M3, but I have experience with my dad's e46 325i 5MT. It really depends on who's driving it.
The BMW I find has horrendous throttle response (relatively speaking) compared to the TL. I find myself stabbing at the throttle several times and the RPMs barely budge. You have to give it a good jab to get the engine to respond.
That combined with the super long clutch pedal travel and the long throws of a much less precise shifter, yea. I almost feel like i'm driving a bus the throws are so long.
TL is easier IMO, but both have their own quirks.

I'm a bit curious as to why this was asked here instead of Car Talk. Not because this is obviously a TL related question, but because there are a few M3 owners in Car Talk who could answer this.
Anyway, I imagine the newer M3 transmission can't be that hard. I had no issue learning how to drive E46 M3 manuals, so I can only assume the E92 gen. is just as easy.

You don't have to push the pedal to the floor.
I haven't driven TL manual, but have driven both TSX manual and 08 M3 manual. It's not as easy as TSX, I'd say, but it is still relatively easy. The only thing is the clutch is heavier, probably because it's got V8 underneath.

The G used to have a touchy clutch and terribly mediocre shift feel. The new one is significantly better in terms of shift feel, but the clutch, while improved, is still a bit touchy.
As for the M3, unless they have made it significantly different from past iterations, it should be pretty close to the shifter on the TL-S with the addition of a much stiffer clutch. The gates are not as well-defined and the action of the shifter is just ever so slightly less positive, but the M3's MT is overall one of the better ones on the market.

I just picked up my tl mt last friday. I really don't understand what everyone is talking about with this car being difficult to drive. I use to valet on the side for extra cash so I have driven literally hundreds of manual cars and I think the tl is unbelievably easy.
Is it the clutch travel, or engagement or shifting? Sorry, I just don't think this car takes any effort. As far as the m3, my buddy has an 05 and I thought it was actually a little softer than mine is on the acura, but that was a year ago so the butt-dial could be off.
