How do you open license plate light white cover from outsite??

Hi guys

I am so sorry to ask this newbi question. this question probably has been asked many times but i am having a trouble to find good answer in search at this time.

ok.. I already changed my license plate lights before. I opened whole cover of inside trunk to change them. However one of my light somehow is not working. so basically i wana check if this light is disconnected or something but i dont wanna open whole cover again.

so question is.. how do I open simeply white cover from outside that is attached after license lights?

Hmmm, that would be hard and a good chance of breaking something. Best way is from the inside. It's not difficult and you can actually pop the whole thing out to check it.

Ive never tried. I think you're better off just going from the inside

go from the inside, you dont want to risk any damage for something so easy as to removing some trunk lining

I changed mine to LED's not too long ago and it wasn't hard at all, going from the inside is very easy and will ensure not breaking the plastic.

not hard, just takes awhile to pull out all those little black clips. go at it the right way so you dont break anything.

I can get my trunk lid liner off without tools (just using fingernails) in less than 5 minutes.

You don't even have to take the whole thing off, just a few clips and the two bumpers and you can peel it back to get to the inside of the lens.

^^ you need at least a philips to get the screw off that holds the inside trunk handle to the liner. Unless its already off..cough cough..

I did mine from the outside. I just took the license plate off, unscrewed the 2 bulb housings and pulled them out. They came out rather easy, reinstalling them from the outside was a trick. It took me 20+ minutes and some explicit vocabulary to get them back in without breaking them. You may just want to take the time and go from the inside. There is less chance for damage. However, the hard way CAN be done. (from outside) lol
