How Did You Fix Your Cracked Leather Seats?
I recently bought in 04 TL, the whole entire car is mint, only 74k and I got it for a great price. The one thing that bothers me about the car, and I know its a typical issue with Acura's, is the cracked driver and passenger seats. I bought a conditioner spray and I've been conditioning them every couple of nights but I don't think I've seen any improvements. Is it too late? Is there any way to fix these cracks or at this point am I just trying to prevent them from getting worse?

Leatherique, two applications will REALLY help. Heat SIGNIFICANTLY improves the overall performance of the product, so I am going to have to recommend you hold off until summer of be willing to spend a good hour with a heat gun for each application.
Stuff's AWESOME.

Leatherique is a fantastic product, but won't "fix" your leather. I'd give it a shot first as well, because it's a huge improvement in looks. If it doesn't satisfy you, I'd talk to a leather specialist.

^ This. You can't "fix" cracked leather per se. The only way to make them disappeared is to replace the leather. With that being said, leatherique is definitely the way to go to make the leather looks and feel better

I found with the Griots Rejuvenator that after a few rounds of it my leather got so supple that some of the cracks kind of "receded". So much so that I could thoroughly clean the dirt in the crack out and now the wrinkles are barely noticeable.
Leatherique does just about the same.

didn't gatr just have someone come out and fix the cracks in his seat bolsters?
It definitely made a difference from what you could see in his pics, don't remember what he said he paid for it though.
found it. $110 for the front seats

Wow that looks fantastic. Did you watch them do the work? Any idea what they did?

I think he cleaned the leather really well (it's a compliment to me when the guy said it was a pain in the ass to get out all the leather conditioner from the leather ). He then applied some synthetic leather goop, maybe leatherique or something, to the 'cracks' or creases. He then applied a heat gun to it, waited for it to dry, and then sanded it down with different grits of sand paper. He then used a professional style spray gun and applied the right leather color to it to paint the leather. Then he applied a light coat of clear, and bam, he was done.

I did not watch them do the work, but I peeked in a sneak every 15 minutes or so. They had worked on my Accord before, so I trusted the guy.

I might just go to a reputable leather shop to see what they can do for mine, how much was the cost to repair?

How long ago did you get this done, I am considering to replace the leather seats all together since I never knew of an alternative with results, but after seeing the photos

He took it.
Depending on how close you are, they might charge a fuel surcharge, so don't balk if they do.
I actually only had $79 to my name, but came up with the extra cash through our joint account.
Back when I had my Accord, he did my entire car for $200, front and back seats.

It might not be. I was originally told that it would be $125, which included a gas surcharge to come out to my place. I told him I had $110 to my name to do it, take it or leave it.
He took it.

took it to a local shop that is recommended by my local acura dealership. $250 and took 6 hours, they replaced the whole bottom silver section. The new leather matches nearly 100% so I'm happy. The color is pretty spot on, but is not as reflective as the oem leather. Definitely no big deal though as you'd have to really look to see the difference

To the guy who just put in the tl-s seat, just curious if you just put in the one or found both for the front? If so what was the deal and what kinda price did you pay?
Did you get the air-bag light on afterward and how did you fix that?

Woolite and water (20:1 dilution) in a spray bottle and a nylon bristle brush to clean since dirty leather wears it out even faster and Leather Master Leather Vital to condition. You may have to reapply it 3-4 times if the leather is really dry. But deep cleaning and conditioning will make it look better.
Best solution cost-wise if the leather is too far gone is watch craigslist for someone parting out your car with better leather.
