Home made yellow fog overlay
So I really like the look of yellow fogs on WDP both with the bulb on and off. I was going to buy the ones online but I am both impatient and cheap. I also like to make things work. I headed down to TAP plastics and got 1 linear foot of yellow sheeting. I think its polyurethane but I'm not certain. The material is almost identical to the slides for an overhead projector. I cut the pieces at 5 3/4" x 5". Then I rounded the corners off so I could slip them in front without removing anything. The film wouldn't adhere like vinyl would but I used some double stick foam tape to secure it from the top in order to ensure it stays in place. I cut the foam tape into small pieces about 1cm wide and stuck two together so it would fit snug above the lens right underneath the black cover. The easiest way to get the tape to fit behind is to rotate the film to the side where the gap is large enough for the foam tape to slip by. Then you work the tape around the outside lens to position it in the perfect spot. It took a few tries at first to find the correct size sheet. I doubled the sheet to make the yellow more pronounced because a single layer made it look a little on the yellow green side. overall I am happy with the look and the best part is I only spent $4 on the job total. Now I hope the film doesnt melt but I'm pretty sure it will hold up as I do not always use my fogs.

How about some pictures that are more of a close up than your Avatar?

No the grill isnt blacked out it just doesn't show the chrome in the photo. I like the grill OEM on the TL-S. I'm not big on modding my TL too much because thats one of the things I really liked about the car when they first came out. I have seen some really sick modded TLs though don't get me wrong. I think a car can be a work of art......you work and work on it and you reach a point where it literally can't get any better. Then you keep going and before you know it you've ruined the masterpiece. IMO

It looks good... but check up on it after a few days to make sure the heat hasn't melted the plastic.
It would have been ideal for you to have gotten vinyl that are a few mils thick, but of course, that would've taken time =P

Bruce, hello. Question on the yellow vinyl for the fogs. Is that already pre-cut or would I have to cut on my own? Do you ship with instructions or is it pretty much self explanatory? Thanks and let me know, i'm interested in buying.

Nice project. I did something similiar using plexiglas. It won't burn and really protects the fogs from rocks:
