Hit a tire on the road

This afternoon I was on the highway and as the title suggests, hit a tire that was on the road. The damage doesnt look that bad, i think its just this little chrome / plastic piece. My question, is does anyone know how it goes on? From what i can tell online it looks like it should just snap in there, but i'm nervous to go pulling at the rest of whats left to get it off at the risk of damaging the plastic mesh... any ideas?

pics coming

If I remember correctly it has to be unclipped from the back with the bumper removed using a small flat head screwdriver...It's been a while since I put my aspec kit on...

Edit: Aaron said it better...tabs not "clips" hold the strip in place...

the little chrome strip on your front bumper? there are a couple tabs holding it in place. shouldn't be hard to pop out from behind and replace.

It will take you 1 hour tops (to do the whole job), if you've never removed the bumper before. Just follow the instructions in the 3G garage

resolution

ok so i didnt have the balls or the tools to take my bumper off, and while i could go buy the tools... anyways, I ended up taking a trip to the local acura dealer, who had the part in stock. The part cost me about $30. The piece that had broken off led me to believe i could use a pair of scissors to cut away the rest of the broken part, and the new part should snap right on.

So i did, and it did... sort of... one of the clips was broken but the other two arent broken and its on there pretty good so i'm ok with it.

Thanks again for the help, az to the rescue again.

I guess that works too...If it wasnt such a rush, I could have sent you mine for free and saved you 30 bucks!!?? I'd say "maybe next time" but hopefully it never happens again

That sucks. I hit one 2 weeks after I got my TL and it put a tiny hole in my fog lamp. I need to get that replaced.
