not necessary..their light output are some of the best...if anything, maybe one step up. Most people change more for color than actually trying to see better. Your better off investing in some HID foglight ( not the ones in the headlight but seperate relocated to the lower grill like the new type S)

Some people have upgraded their bulbs to a different kelvin to change the color. In terms of light output you won't gain any more light with a change of bulb. If you go too high though on the kelvin youc ould lose light output.
If you need some HID replacements bulbs you should look into KAIXEN.

There is no need to upgrade the TL projector.
There seems to be two mods that are possible.
1) Boost the ballast from 35w to 50w by physically altering the circuit board of the ballast and adding a resistor ( or maybe it was a capacitor ). You need to get Phillips 50w rated D2S bulbs too, the 35w will burn out quickly.
2) Swap out the Fresnel lens of the TL projector to the "famous" ZKW crystal clear lenses found on some of the latest bmw 3series. The result is actually incredible, the cut off line is razor sharp from literally any distance.

There is a guy with the handle JnC at that hidplanet website who has a red TL with his headlights painted red to match his car. I think I've seen his car on this forum somewhere, he has the ZKW lenses. His car is cooolu!

JnC... actually did the retrofit and body paint match for another member on this forum... before he retired from doing this type of work...
JnC used to be a sponsored vendor on this site doing headlight clearing...

Stock HID bulbs are good already since it's 4300K and a slight of yellow to it, it will cut through fogs. You can opt for the 6000K philip Ultion bulbs with a slight blue/purple tint. Or mod the foglight with 3000K Philip yellow HID. Or swap out the projector for a sharp cut off. Many possibility...just see whats your options are. Good luck!

i have 5000K McCulluch fog lights which is really nice (white)... thinking it will closely match the head lights which is 4300K. but the fogs just made the headlights look yellowish..so i just upgraded my my headlights to McCulluch 6000K. which has a slight hint of blue.. which matches more than the 4300K. but now im trying to decide if i want to change my 5000K fogs to 6000K also.
the inside yellow lights are your fog lights and the pretty ones on the outside are your HIS headlights

Oh, I see. Thanks for the info. What foglights can I get that'll match our other lights?
