Hi! Introducing myself. . .

Hi all! I posted earlier today about leasing an '08 TL-S but I never introduced myself. Anyway, I'm an Acura nut and a chick. I started out with a silver '96 Integra when I was 16, switched to a blurple (yes, "blurple") '98 Integra 2 years later, then found myself in a silver '02 RSX 4 years later and most recently a silver '04 TSX. They have all, of course, been manuals.

Tonight I'm going to trade in my TSX for an '08 TL-S. I'm thinking I will get the silver with the taupe interior. Also, for the first time in my life I will be getting an automatic. [ducking] I know many of you will probably tell me I'm crazy, but with the stop-and-go-but-mostly-stop traffic I deal with on a daily basis, having a manual was starting to hurt my ankle (especially when driving in heels). It feels almost sacreligious, but I'm sure that some counseling will get me through it.

Anyway, hi all!

Welcome TurboTease.
Looking forward to seeing your ASM TLS. Don't feel bad about getting the AT. I did the same due to my daily commute. Have no fear...that's what the paddle shifters for. It's not the same as having a real manual but I think the trade off's worth it. BTW, I've got an 07 ASM TLS/AT and lovin it. Even though the 09's expected to have some big changes I wouldn't worry. First of all, will the 09 look as sweet as our 3rd G's? Plus I'd pass on the first year of new production to let the bugs get worked out.

Congratulations and Welcome Aboard.

You'll love the Auto. I drove a Mustang GT manual for my daily commute until my knee started bothering me. I have an Auto on my TLS. I miss the manual sometimes, but the auto is very good especially in bumper to bumper on I-95.

Post pictures when you can

Welcome to the club of owning a TL.

I bet there will be days that you miss rowing through the gears. Good luck and enjoy your car.

WELCOME! Hope you're loving your new TL as much as I am mine.

Great seeing another woman in here among all the boys. Akin to being a goldfish in a shark tank! Always good to hear what the 'other half' feels, and your perspective is more than welcome.

Enjoy the new car!

Congratuations! Glad to have you. I love that silver metallic paint...really nice. Though you won't have the manual, you'll have to get used to those paddles. You can still have some fun with them...

You'll get nostalgic for a manual on occassions, especially on road trips or when the traffic is light. I know sometimes I regret my decision to buy an auto, but the TL is only my daily driver. Driving a manual would kill my right shoulder (I had a rotator cuff injury of the supraspinatus), so the constant shifting can somewhat be painful. Anyways, I think you'll love the TL with or without a manual transmission.
