...and here it is again - the infamous MS3 vs G37
Evening friends,
Thought I would post a friendly happening. This morning, I was fortunate enough to run into an acquaintance of mine. If you all remember, he owns a Mazdaspeed 3; I believe the only mod he has done is a SRI by Cobb. Anyways, we had 3 individual runs.
First involved me taking off at the top of 3rd (~4500 revs). He was approximately a car length and a half in front of me when he took off himself. He got the jump, but I managed to reel him in to approximately a cars length. We came up on traffic (oncoming in the right lane), and I assumed he would slow down - so I let off, only to let him gain another car length. I got back on it and reeled him in again to about a car length. We let off just as I was creeping up on his bumper. The 2nd run, I tried taking off in 2nd gear, only to accidentally shift into 5th (can someone tell me if this really hurts/ed the car
). I let off immediately when I saw the engine bog. The third and final run was the best - we took off side-by-side, myself in 3rd. I took him by a little under 3 car lengths. He went on his merry way (weaving through traffic 
dumbass) as did I 
Went to enjoy some dim-sum with some friends (walsh <--bastard's getting a 335i + fan_888) @ Top Gun!
Alright, now...onto the discussion...
Ya know, I can't help but let this guy get under my skin. Sure, I've gotten better at shifting, but I'm not the best, and sure as hell not as quick as fan_888's shifting. He claims to have had 4 people in his car (although I could have SWORN I only saw a single passenger), and after youtubing MORE ms3 vs ____ races, I can't help but to think that this fool would SMASH me if it were 1 to 1 (driver). Why does it bother me so much? I dunno...old high school rivalry (I dated someone he was interested in he was so upset, he threw a punch at me LOL - we resolved it after classes had ended PUAHAHAHAHAH...*sigh* boy was high school retttaaarrrded)? 
Any who, if I can't beat 'em...then I guess Walsh will have to kill em for me with his soon to have 400+ tuned 335i...
By the way, I also ran the same dude (same mods) in a loaner 37X. The outcome was a little funny - when he got the jump, I couldn't reel him in, at all...no matter how fast we went. When I got the jump on the other hand, he wasn't able to catch up either. So in short, we were dead even (he had a passenger).

Look at the bright side Erick, you drive an Infinity G37 Sport, he drives some crappy Mazda 3.....I'd pick a G37 over ANY Mazda any day, or even over a 335i (maybe I'd take the 335i coupe, the 4 door has crappy leg room and head room for all passengers, plus the interior is YUCK) You're 22 and drive a car that cost DOUBLE of what his car costs, you should be proud.. It's not all about speed
