Talking Help programming the garage remote?

We can't find our manual, we just moved.

Anyone have the instructions online on how to program the car's built-in remote for the garage door?

Thanks a lot in advance.

to program just hold the button that you want programmed down and press the transmiters button the light will flash when complete. then your all set. to clear I believe you hold the first button and last button down this will clear all programing. thats off the top of my head. As soon as I look in the mannual tonight I'll try to post it. but I'm sure someone else will bet me too it.

If you have a security + or other (i think rolling code system) the instructions inside the manual won't work. I had to call homelink's 800 number to get the programming instructions (it's all automated and prerecorded for instructions) for my garage door opener. In my case I believe I had to hold the button inside the car for a specified time then climb up on a ladder to hit the button on the garage door opener itself. It was easy once I had the directions but before that it was frustrating as hell trying to figure out why it wouldn't program according to the manual.

Good to know. I have rolling code openers. Tried to do it exactly as the instructions say, but it just won't work. So I've had the door opener "clicker" up on the visor right next to the Homelink buttons since I bought the car.

I'll call the 800# and see if I can get it to work.

I just recently did this with my Genie Rolling Security garage door opener. You have to find the button inside the genie.. you can see it either outside or insdie of the lighting housing. In my case, it was inside and I climbed on a ladder and hit it with a flat stick like a painters stick and then ran to my car. Then I immediately (you have 30 secs) held down the button I wanted programmed until it blinked as the manual said. After that, it worked.

Okay it worked!

We have a Liftmaster, place is like 2 yrs old.

1) car key all the way on
2) wife hit the learn button up on the opener itself
3) I hit the 1 button on the car, and held it.
4) Have to hold the button not stab it to make it work

Thanks!

Let me get this straight. Your wife hit the 'learn' button which caused you to figure it out? Or was it that she hit the button, resulting in you opening the garage door for her? Either way, it works!

Keep in mind, if your door opening unit needs to be reset at anytime, you have to retrain your Homelink in the car. In Florida, lightning causes my door opener to go Karen Anne Quinlan periodically, and the unit must be reset, followed by a another 'learning' experience with the TLs Homelink.
