Help with price

I am thinking on trading my '99 Prelude for an '04 TL. I already have an '04 TSX 6MT. What is a good starting price for negotiations on a 6MT with Nav? Do the 6MT get a brake upgrade from the auto? Thanks for the information.

It appears that the going rate for navis are about 500-750 off MSRP depending on options. Some people get 500 of and get the comfort and convenience package for free. I haven't seen many people get more than a 100 of MSRP. YEs, the MT upgrades brakes to Brembos.

In certain areas of the country (like around PA and NJ) you can easily get $1,500 - 2,000 off on NAVI version. But that's of little help, if you're in the middle-of-nowhere-Texas. You may not be able to get anything off MSRP.

I would certainly try to search as wide as possible and start by offering dealers $1,500 under MSRP.

Good luck

This middle-of-nowhere-Texas town is 30 miles west of downtown Houston. My Acura dealer is 13 miles from me.

I do not believe that dulnev was suggesting that Katy Texas was anything other than a sprawling urban metropolis that may be considered by many as the center of the universe (and only 30 miles from Houston).

I believe his point was that if you do not have several dealers in your area competing for your business, you may not get as much of a discount as those of us that live in larger urban markets.

Quite clearly dulnev was demonstrating his ignorance of the proper geographical significance of Katy Texas while attempting to respond to your question. I doubt he'll do that again.

No, no, no! I consider the entire state of Texas to be middle-of-nowhere for the purpose of Acura buying. If you don't have 20-30 dealerships accessible within 3-4 hour drive, you're screwed, when trying to negotiate a deal on a NAVI TL. Same applies to most states in the South and Midwest.

My mistake. Katy Texas is in the middle of nowhere. Sorry.
