Help me choose some tips for my Type-S rear lip =)
I already ordered my type-s lip and looking to get some tips soon. I'll saw off the whole bottom side of the base bumper and fit this on!
what is the size of the oem type-s tips? are they 7" across?
would these look good?
http://www.assuredautomotiveproducts...ong-AC1105.htm
i have not seen enough tips on type-s rears to make a good decision. Staggered... or flat.... and budget wise i'd like the spend less then 100.
any other suggestions etc appreciated, aesthetically pleasing and tasteful options please =) i.e) non too small or squished in the mousehole etc
thanks
pictures will be up as soon as I can get some tips and the lip

more tip types

http://www.partstrain.com/store/deta...tml?vdesc=true
all the tips are 3.5 outlet each and 7 across i believe
the slanted staggered one is 3.5 @ 7.25 across tho
should i go 3.75 or 4+ per tip and 8 across?
awaiting feedback, i have no idea how these tips would look in person

I like the 1st link you posted because it has a sideways slant cut angle thing to match the flow of the bumper. The only problem is that the 1st link is 17.3" is pretty darn long IMO from where our mufflers sit to the edge of the lip kit.
The other 2, those sit flush with each and the outside tip might stick out way too much. Check out the position on the ATLP Quad tips - they are staggered to match the flow of the lip kit.
Ballinzfizzle on this site had dual 4" tips and it (barely) worked. They had to be spot on to fit, but it looked insane.

Oh laaawwwwddddd those 4s are fucking wet wet. Are they staggered?
Makes me want to lOok into some 4"
I am not running rear mufflers so I think I can get the first one to fit easier perhaps. I'm just worried bout those tips being too flat looking for the TLs wide rear

i was waiting for more pictures and feedback but got none. Emailed the place that sells the tips they said no more pictures are available.
I'll be paying roughly 74~ per dual tip total of 150+ for them and not knowing what they look like.
I bit the bullet and ordered them yesterday, if these are bad i'd be out a a good 150$... restocking fee and shipping back for a refund would probably rip a good chunk off my well earned cash...
we'll see soon enough

The tips are here!
imo welds could use help but great tips nonetheless
I am so impatient right now... I want these on NAO!!!
Lip is not ready yet and I already want to go ahead and start cutting at my base bumper and have these fitted. How far should the tips stick out without the aspec lip on? I think I will do it, have the quads and put the lip on later.

^ yea i want them on asap
the most neat way to cut is following what I traced with a red line? Picture provided by Google.
cut sides of mouse cut and on innerside chop it all the way across to accomodate the middle piece of the tl-s lip?
anyone in norcal east bay want to help or can provide a dremal? Do not know where mine is and is not guaranteed to work when/if i find it
thanks

07-08 base can skip cutting out the middle. how about the base 04-06?
also none of the muffler shops i go to are open today... doubt they'll be open tomorrow either.. damn

got to cutting the bumper today, was borrowing a mask ment for filters without the filters (had none)
held my breathe each time i went to cut at it
is my health at risk for smelling burnt plastics?
going to finish cutting the rest of it tomorrow

I went through the whole cutting up the bumper when I did my Accord fogs.
It smells really bad but I didn't hold my breath or use a mask lol.

I havn't did a cutting project in a while and it just hit me that plastic is considered a highly toxic substance when entering body thru the respiratory system.
Well I seem to be alive as well but who knows how it could have damaged our cells and damage could have already taken a toll
perhaps i'm going crazy, got more cutting to do tomorrow anyways lol
must... have... quads...

yea haha all sorts of shit in the air outside that probably is odorless and worse >=[
I didn't get to a powerful cutter of a sort until near the end of the day so i've only cut thru the entire middle part of the bumper. Air fat dremil made quick work but also smelt like massive shit if i didn't leave the bumper quick enough for fresh air
pretty much done after cutting that part and the underside on both sides
should take no more than few minutes if i can borrow a cutter again tomorrow
I have to cut the circled in red to seperate the bottom side fully correct?
how should i deal with stubborn body pins under the car? pliars and a flat head still didn't budge. I ended up cutting them up and crumbling it to get them out

I would have put those slash cuts on the side in front of the rears....put em with the slashes flush along the body and then run the exhaust at an angle.....

hopefully will be done tomorrow... too many complications got in the way of getting stuff done
not sure what you mean with slash cuts hammer, do you mean the actual cutting of the bumper or the tips?
I plan to have the tips stick out ---> || from the rear lip maybe is not noticeable but i'm picky about random shitty details lol

Be sure to fill the center of the A-Spec lip with the honeycomb part!

I was thinking about it but not sure yet haha.
I will be covering the back with a thin black plastic sheet. who knows this may look better perhaps
whats better than a picture update? a video update! and a regular picture =p
notes: i may need to adjust the tips a bit more to my liking
some low revs
just cruising around, not sure if you can hear vtaks near the end

^Thanks Kevo, I think the tip length got all readers confused =p but the trick is I have no rear mufflers. I tried to get the shop to angle it the way a tl-s is by way of picture, if I got to study how the tl-s quads fit i'd probably have it fit more precise and better. I never actually got to look at how the fitment of oem tl-s quads flow but o well, seems good enough for now
The tone I have is 3 oem cats and ONE middle oem muffler that is it. Took me a few trips to some exhaust shops to get a satisfactory exterior sound and without sacrificing my ear interior.
Underneath my exhaust is very frankenstein looking because of random variations I went thru. (I'm an exhaust whore, my old car went thru so many exhaust set ups =X )
I might be the only person with just the middle muffler and nothing else. I call it Stage DC2many
Another thing is that after the tips install the car got noticeably louder but not by much. After the tips I also noticed more exhaust burble while previously the tone was more smoothed out. You can hear it on my random drive video, underload always sounds better than free revving.
