Help me with a brake purchase decision
Okay, here is my dilemma... The TL needs new rotors and pads. I know you gain significant performance over aftermarket rotors and pads but I am trying to think if it is actually worth it for my personal needs.
I have had several Corvettes and I guess I am kind of past my hotrodding phase. If I wanted impressive horsepower and impressive stopping power I probably would have gone with another Corvette. I have since sold my Vettes and bought my TL for a nice everyday driver. So do I ....
A) buy a nice set of rotors and pads from Excelerate on the forums
or
B) just get standard replacement pads and rotors from autozone and save the cash
If option A, what will I gain besides improved stopping power. The stock TL stops fine for me. I'm definitely not trying to start a Corvette vs. TL battle, just trying to figure out the best option for me.
Thanks guys!

If I were in your shoes, I'd just get OEM replacements and call it a day.
you said it yourself, you are not looking for performance and you think the TL stops fine anyway.
save yourself the hassle and stick with OEM.
although, check to see if the autozone rotors are any good.

Are you 6MT or 5AT?
If you're AT, just stick with the OEM - sounds like they'll suit your needs.
If you're MT, get the upgrade. They are less expensive than the OEM replacements, they look better and they *should* work better (improved stopping, heat disipation and less dust).

sorry, should have included that. It's a 5AT
I was leery of having Acura just put new rotors and pads on, I thought the price would be right back in the performance brakes and pads range. Do you guys have any suggestions on where to get them cheap?

This maybe geared toward performance, but if you are just looking for a simple, yet good rotor replacement, check these out.
they are the racing brake, 1 piece oem replacement rotors.
they are 118 a piece on Racingbrake.com or talk with MrHeelToe, he may have a better price.
