Hello from New Hampshire!

Hey all, my name is Sebastian, just bought a 08 type S for xmas and i am very satisfied! I traded in my 2012 Camry for it, previously owned a few good cars and was a normal forum junkie! My best friend is an Acura mechanic however i hope to gain a lot of knowledge and advice on here! It's winter however i want to have all my "ducks lined up" for the spring. I'll be looking for a CAI, roof spoiler, any and all DIYs that help the car look "clean" and sporty. I'll have pics up later.

Sebastian

Welcome, and nice pick up!

I too traded in a newer car for a TL-S...went from a 2011 Maxima to my 07 Type S...haven't regretted it one bit.

In terms of mods...CAI probably has no need to be at the top of your list, or even on it really, but feel free to research that on your own. A-Spec lip kit should be at the top, along with springs/coilovers a close second. Roof spoiler is a good one too, although I still haven't installed mine. I would look at BMWOEMshop on eBay for a nice one at a great price. While on eBay, look at 15/20mm Akata spacers if you are leaving the stock wheels on. Good luck!

Wise decision. Well, a more fun decision anyways. The recent gen Camry has about as much character as a bag of potatoes. Toyota is so uninspiring lately. But then again, so is Acura with their current lineup.

I agree with KJ on the CAI - not a big deal like it is in other vehicles. Our stock intake is essentially a CAI but with a bit more restriction. So while a CAI frees up a bit of restriction, it's not going to get much cooler air that what you've got not (a little bit, but not a lot). I'd consider exhaust mods before a CAI, though the CAI will be cheaper and easier to install. And don't go spending a lot on it either. Just the cheapo stuff on eBay is fine - with a nice filter like an AEM on the end.

^ agree with these guys. one of those AEM or fujita or whatever brand intakes is an asinine purchase IMO. The money will be much better spent elsewhere. Congrats and welcome, im from Maine.

^^^

What color???

I second/third/fourth all of that. CAI is a waste, had one in my first TL and it was a foolish move.

I put a M3 style spoiler on my roof and it looks great, personally I'm not into the Type-S a-spec kit but that's just me. I've put on the color matched splash guards instead. If I had the time I'd put on the base a-spec kit, looks much better IMO.

I don't really have any advice other than Coilovers!!! makes it fun

Good Luck!

Welcome!

You could've asked about the 19" ASpecs in here....
I assume your asking about the RDX A-Specs? There is a thread here somewhere about them.

Get the 2nd one you have listed, from bmwoemshop. Many of us on these forums have bought from them and the spoiler is top notch. They paint it to exactly your colour, you just give them the paint code. Let them know you heard of them throught Acurazine. I was impressed with the quality of mine.

love the color! Definitely jump on the aspec if your going for a sporty look. I prefer the base aspec front lip over the type s one also but they'll both add to that aggressive sporty look.

Welcome and congrats!

As far as roof spoilers go, I just got mine from here. Paint matches perfect, has some weight to it so it seems like good quality. I havent installed it yet but think its going to look great!
