Heater core?

Heater core?
Good morning, 2nd post. Another thing I need to look at and or get done.
So long story short, I'm wondering why some days, I'm not getting heat, but some days I do. The heated seats work fine (Not sure if it's relevant). The other thing I noticed is, the air blows really weak, so when the heat does work, you can barely feel it through the vents. The two vents in the middle don't blow air at all, but the driver side has very little air circulation despite being on max fan speed. So with that concern, I'm wondering,
Is it that the air is not properly vented or could I possibly have a bad heater core?

1. Check coolant. Preferably on the cold engine. Low coolant = no water going through heater core = no heat.
2. Check cabin air filter. Plugged filter = no air flow. Answer Jackass question too.
3. If coolant good, what engine temp gauge shows? Is it possible to reach to the firewall and feel if hoses going to heater core are hot? Our cars have heater valve that closes the flow of coolant. Sticking valve = random / no heat / heat all the time.
Again never tried on our cars, but you should be able to see valve operate if some buddy sits inside and switches from LOW to HIGH temperature.
4. Maybe blend door is sticking?
Finally, at least in my car, center vents are mostly used for cooling. If I turn on AC in the summer, there's a lot of air coming out of center front vents. There is almost no air coming out of them in the winter.
