headlights
I have a gap in the horizon on my headlights...its very distracting. I've had it in the shop 4 times and they can't fix it. Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Not sure I understand your problem. Do you mean the lights don't illuminate the road evenly? This is the way the HID lights look. The left one has a cutoff so you don't blind the other drivers, and when you see it the first few times it looks really weird.
Some people try to adjust the light so it shines a little higher, but this is really bad for the other drivers, and could cause an accident, with you possibly on the receiving end.
If you mean something else, explain a little more.

So I am clear,.....everyone has this?......the one and only thing I thought may have been an issue with my '05 AT,w/Nav is headlight alignment...
I will double check tonight but I think my Left headlight is actually the higher one though, this wouldn't make sense based on Ron A, answer.
Thanks!!!

Yes Ron, exactly...I guess that is the answer. It seems like they need to perfect this more with the headlights. Sometimes at night my eyes stare at the point and it can be very dangerous. Thanks

.............._______ (ignore the dots, this is the only way to get the lines to align)

This is what your top line should look at when you face your car against a wall or look at the road in front of your car. The top line (where the light ends and the darkness begins above the light) should be lower on the left since the left headlight is aimed slightly lower so as not to blind drivers in the oncoming lane.
This is how mine looks and I believe how most look also.

This is very common on European headlights and the Xenons tend to follow that. Even Euro hallogens had that pattern.
You can test that both sides are the same by shining the headlights on a wall or garage door, then standing in front of one headlight, or blocking it with something, you will see that both sides shine this uneven pattern, it is built into the reflector design (actually, it is the little flap that controls the low beams and high beams for the bp-xenons, if you put the headlights on high beam, the irregularity goes away).
Old (1st gen) TL's had this very same pattern with the hallogen bulbs too!
