Headlight protectors
I bought a set from MacNeil Automotive, who make the Weather Tech Mats. Around $45/pair.
The stuff appears to be the same 3M clear vinyl that the clear bras are made of, but cut to fit our headlights, and protect against breakage, pitting, and general mess.
They went on easy - I stripped all the wax off the gass with rubbing alcohol, and mixed a small spray bottle of 3 parts alcohol to 1 part distilled water. You need a hair dryer to warm the vinyl and keep it pliable, both during the pre-application prep, and afterward as you squeegee out the water/alcohol mix.
You spray your hands, remove the backing, and spray the adhesive side with the spray to avoid leaving fingerprints. I also spreayed the headlight a bit. It too two tries to get the alignment right (start with the side nearest the grill) - you then squeegee out as much of the xcess (squeegee provided with kit). It can take up to two weeks for the few spots left to burn off, but after two days they are largely gone. if you drive at night, that speeds it up.

never stops!
Any URL pointers to see this? So they keep these for all makes and model pre-cut? I saw the installer installing the 3M film on my headlights with the same method you described. It was $70 for a pair. $45 seems very good price. But again the installer will charge for labor and $25 additional seems reasonable.

Is it inconspicuous or do you see a "rainbow" kind of effect when you look at the headlights from another angle?
Do they have these pieces for any other parts of the body? If you can post up a pic whenever you get a chance that would be great.
